Simply the best set I've ever cooked with

I have been doing all the cooking for my family for nearly 20 years. I have always bought (or received as a gift) cheaper cookware sets that never seem to last long. After purchasing this Calphalon set I will never go back to any other brand, at any price. This set is simply amazing. Food cooks evenly, the nonstick surface means I cook with less oil, and durability is awesome. These pots and pans must be hand washed, but I don't mind. For the quality and ease of use it is with it. The strainer lids and measuring markings on the inside of the pots are super convenient. I see many reviews on here where the person received the product for free in exchange for a review. While these reviews were helpful, there was still that sliver of doubt. Make no mistake, this set is the real deal. I purchased this set, as opposed to receiving it for free, and I absolutely love it!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Would definitely purchase again

I’ve had this set for a bit over two years now and they still look basically brand new! I cook a lot and my pans see up to two or three uses per day. Gentle hand washing and never ever using metal utensils are truly the only factors needed to keep them looking pristine.
I’m confused by how many negative reviews there are claiming the nonstick coating is wearing off even with proper care? This has not been my experience in any way, even with heavy use. I can only assume that it’s because “proper care” means different things to different people.
This set in particular has a great variety of sizes and, although I have a couple other sizes of the same Classic line, I tend to use the ones from this set most often.
I would recommend this to a friend!

One fatal flaw....

I really have been happy with this purchase. I like the weight and quality of the pans. This set is a great buy for the price. However, I 100% would have considered purchasing a different set from Calphalon had I known one thing.... the handles on the lids get too hot to handle while cooking, even just on the stove top. One example, I just made a pot of soup in the big pot and had it on low heat the entire time; even cooking on low heat the handle gets too hot to hold for even just long enough to take the lid off to stir the soup around. Like I said, the pans themselves are great, but I would have liked to known that beforehand about this so I could have made a more informed purchase. I would have loved to say five stars, but to me the thing with the handles is a big deal. I would recommend this product to a friend, but I would most certainly tell them about the handles.

Great All-around Non-stick cookware set.

The first pan I bought myself as an adult was a Calphalon 12in frying pan. I have been wanting a dual-layer nonstick cookware set for a while now. I liked that this set came with 6 pans, and 4 lids. The first thing I made was an omelet, and in one flip, and a slide it was out of the pan and on top my plate as if nothing was even in the pan frying. I've fried pork chops, made chili, and curry just this week. I also like that the lids are tempered glass, and the pan can even be in the oven for up to 450°F. I think this is the perfect set for someone that loves to cook, needs the basic, classic nonstick 10-piece cookware set. Having more than just one good pan, and an actual set has made me cook, and bake more. I received these pans for free for my opinion. The features for easy food release, quick cleanup, convenient measuring marks, pour spouts, and straining lids along with the Durable-hard-anodized aluminum construction, and cast stay-cool stainless steel handles also made me enjoy using these pans. I like the warranty Calphalon has too.

Dishwasher

I had a family member put these in the dishwasher and now they have a film on the outside. It is kind of like a powder that comes off if you wipe it with your finger. Are these ruined now that they were put in the dishwasher and is there anything I can do to restore them.

Overall initially great, but not long-lasting

Like some other reviews I’m seeing here, I’ve had my pans for about 2 years and I’m noticing a significant decrease in the non-stick qualities of the more frequently used items. I haven’t subjected them to excessive temps, I wash/scrub only with scotch pads, and I haven’t used metal utensils. However, I’m noticing scratches in the surface, and oils no longer seem to be helping. These issues are happening across the entirety of my 10-piece set, as well as on the 15” skillet I purchased separately. The initial quality of Calphalon seems good, but the longevity just doesn’t seem to be built in.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
