Perfect Camera Bag for Travel
on January 31, 2021
Posted by: George
Great to travel with. During long hauls put in your main carry on bag, it fits perfectly like any packing cube without any straps getting in the way. During day trips you can put on any strap with a peak design anchor and now you have a shoulder bag to carry your gear. I haven't tested it in the rain but it looks like it could handle it. Small cube is big enough space for my a7iii and 2 small to medium sized lenses. Only 2 things that would make this better: a place to attach capture clip (like on their sling) and a zipper on the outside of the cube in addition to or instead of that removable pouch on the inside. These are not deal breakers, you can still attach capture clip to the strap and the removable pouch is there for accessories.

Holds Quite A Bit

I bought the small camera cube and a slide lite strap that can go either on my camera or the cube. The cube holds a ton. It easily fits a Canon RF 70-200 f2.8, RF 15-35 f.2.8, Canon R6 MK II body, battery charger, extra battery, and lens cleaning supplies. Not only am I glad I got this, but I'm also glad I got the 2.8 versions of the lenses since they fit just fine and, in my view, they are easy to carry around and use. The 70-200 and battery charger are under the camera in the attached photo. The camera sits atop the brilliantly designed origami shelfs.

Small camera cube perfect for travel with two lenses
on January 6, 2020

Just took the small camera cube with a full frame mirrorless body, a wide angle zoom and telephoto zoom (a compact one at that) and all three fit perfectly. The bag when hooked up with a PD strap served as the perfect travel bag and made swapping lenses easy on the fly. Held up well to the sudden downpours I got caught in, though there is a small opening where the two zippers aren't able to fully meet, so just be aware of that when it starts to rain, but it wasn't an issue.

Perfect for my setup
on March 23, 2020

purchased the medium camera cube to downsize my insert...what I didn't realize is that the layout and functionality of this cube I could actually fit the same amount of gear and more in than my other previous insert. With the medium cube here is my gear list:
Nikon D750 with Tamron 24-70mm attached in the side access door.
Sigma 20 MM prime
Tamron 70-200 MM on the other side access
Then all my accessories, filters and other odds and end on the other side, still have room for more, possibly another prime lens.
overall the setup and versatility of this cube is great and I see it being my go to setup for a long time to come.

Flexible and Convenient

I use the large camera cube as part of my portable studio setup. It allows me to carry two AD200Pro flashes, fresnel and barebulbs for both, barn doors, gels, a full size camera body with two lenses (35/50mm), flash controller, remote shutter release/intervalometer, batteries, memory cards, knives, sharp sticks, etc...
I use this pack all on its own, with a PD sling and anchors to carry it around. It's been an absolute blessing in terms of quickly schlepping my gear around to remote locations. The origami dividers make organizing the internal space incredibly straightforward and easy.

Great for storing all my camera gear!
on May 2, 2021

I bought the medium camera cube and it's great way to store all of my camera gear. I have a DSLR camera and 5 lenses and every one of them fits in this bag with room to spare for all of my accessories and maybe even another lens in the future. Below are some pros and cons of the cube.
Pros: This cube is sturdy and well built and I foresee it lasting a lifetime. I feel like my camera gear is safe when I'm traveling with this cube. I love that I can access my camera through the side panels or the top of the cube. It also fits all of my camera gear and accessories (minus my peak design tripod) and the organization panels mean you can really customize how everything fits in the cube.
Cons: The medium cube is big! It doesn't fit in my Swiss backpack which I was hoping it would but it is a little too thick and wide. It does fit in my Swiss duffel bag but it takes up about a third of the suitcase. Now I'm looking at getting another peak design backpack that can hold the cube and my laptop but the ones designed to hold the camera cube are so big (I'm a 5'5” female) so it would probably look a little ridiculous to carry that around with me. Another thing is that while you can add the clip on strap the cube is a cube and it's a little awkward to carry around.
Overall I'm happy with the purchase as I was only really looking for something to store all my gear when I travel on short trips and I don't mind just having it out separately or sacrificing some space in my duffle.

Great as a Stand Alone Bag

I bought this bag for my hiking and overnight trips when I carry a duffel bag. This has helped to protect my camera when not in a camera bag. This would be far too much weight to add to a backpack if using it as a packing cube as the video suggested. The Peak Design backpack is too heavy as it is. It doesn’t need any additional weight. I would simply use the dividers included with the backpack.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Medium Cube

What an amazing idea! I have the medium Cube and I have some problems with the cube that will be fixed once I rearrange the spaces, but overall this cube is super useful. The velcro is super sticky and will not shift around. I only really used this cube for about a week. I don't know how long the Velcro will last but I can say that it will probably take a while. The only thing that I would change is the zipper, It isn't has high quality has the zippers on the backpack. I hope that will be changed
I would recommend this to a friend!
