The large camera cube is now my go to for storing my travel gear. Great organization tool. Top (see all) and side (quick 1 item) access is excellent. I suggest beefier straps to use as a stand alone, instead of an insert. Very pleased.
Easy to customize and all-around good protection from everyday bumps and dings. I fit telephoto, prime, and zoom lenses, one camera body, and odds and ends in there with no issue. Great for use on its own or (obviously) with the 45mL travel backpack.
I use this more than my PD 13 litre messenger now. I have attached a strap (PD, of course). I get side access or I open the top and can see (and use) everything at a glance. For a really serious mission, I put it (ready loaded) in my 35 litre duffel. Have I got too much PD stuff? No. When I get complaints from my finance director about camera gear, I tell her it's cheaper than alcohol, women and gambling - that seems to placate her. Best wishes from Norway.
Used the cube to carry my Canon system floating Alaskan Rivers for brown bear. Simply put the single cube inside my daypack. I kept the cube in a dry bag but the padding in the cube worked well.
As an armature photographer I wish it had include straps or shoulder straps, I am now trying to figure out what to put the cube in to carry it to Africa. I do like the cube for protection of the camera.
