I had two of these break in the same spot

When the first one broken I thought it was just defective or user error. But the second one broken in the same exact spot, as I was walking through it. It wasn't even locked or fully pushed open and it just snapped at the hinge. The gate came completely off and it's unable to be fixed because the plastic hinge is what broke. It hasn't even been used long since my son is only 5 months old.

very lightweight and easy to install

I like this gate I think it looks beautiful and clean feels sturdy. The flat step was the reason I gravitated towards this item because in the past at other people's houses I would always hate the step over. I would say be mindful of your door frame because this gate only fits the standard door otherwise you need to purchase additional extensions. Install was very easy you literally just put it on the door frame and twist the knobs in. The handle to Open and close is hard to use at first my brother says it's "adult proof" but I don't have a problem with it and my 9 year old nephews are able to open and close it just fine. The gate is also high enough I am able to still hop over if I need.

Very sturdy but takes time to ensue proper fit

This gate is extremely sturdy and very sleek. The locking feature is my favorite since little ones can't get it open by just flicking the top. Being able to open this gate takes a little arm work for a kid which makes it perfect for 2-5 year olds. While it is a wonderful gate the installation process is a little trying because you want to make sure that you see the green to ensure a tight and proper installation. To make sure it wasn't slipping, was straight, and was tight enough for me to see green was ok but it was gauging how much to loosen it to be able to open the gate. Other than that we have used this gate everyday - multiple times per day in my daughters doorway and I never feel like it's loose or needs adjusting. It really is a great gate!

Works well but still has some kinks

This gate serves its purpose. However, it took quite a while for the gate to be installed. It wouldn't lock right initially and took my husband an hour to get it right, and my husband is very handy. The color fits nicely in my hallway. It is a little shorter than what I expected so if your baby is tall I wouldn't recommend. Other than that, it works well!

The best baby gate I've ever had

I've had 3 different brands of baby gates at home and so far this Safety 1st gate is the best one I had. It's very sturdy. My son really likes to kick, push and climb up the gate so other 2 gates were already crooked a little bit but not with Safety 1st. I also like how I can walk through the gate with 180 degrees swing, so convenient. Highly recommend!

Easy to Assemble and Safe

I LOVE these gates and have one on almost every door. Very easy to assemble with minimum tools, used only a wrench to tighten. The latch for the gate is also very easy to open even when your in a rush but baby proof for my 2 year old. Love that it's simple and blends in. Would highly recommend these affordable easy to use baby gates which are also great for dogs!

Love This Gate!!!

This baby gate is amazing! The opening mechanism is so easy to use, as was installation. It's keep our baby contained but having the option to leave it open for them to free roam is so much more convenient than a conventional gate. I don't think I'll ever want any other type of gate used in our home.
