Good Materials and Sleek Styling. Poor Execution

The Good: High quality materials, good size (not too big bug enough room or all your stuff), nice zipper pulls.
The Bad: The front pocket is far to small modern large format cell phones (Note 8/9, I-phone XS max and others) to fit horizontally or vertically. The largest phone I could fit was an I-phone X. The padding in the laptop pocket is not sewed correctly to offer protection to the bottom the laptop ( the most vulnerable portion during a bag drop). When I place my Macbook into the laptop compartment the padding is pushed to the side of the laptop. This means there is zero padding on the bottom of the bag for the laptop compartment. When your bag hits the floor the edge of your laptop will be the first to impact and with no padding will be toast.
I cannot recommend this bag as it fails to protect your device at all from fall damage while in the bag.
I will be reaching out to Solo to see if maybe i got a defect unit in regards to the padding in the bottom of the laptop compartment. If my unit is indeed correct I will be returning this bag. For the price, the level of protection for my device is abysmal.

I'm giving this bag 1 Star for the sleek look and decent materials with nice zippers pulls . Everything else about his bag misses the mark.
Where to being? The front pocket is far to small for modern cell phones. Note 8, I-Phone XS Max and other large format phones will not fit vertically or horizontally. I-phone x barley fits.
The side compression straps cannot be unclasped only loosened. Why would I want to constantly readjust the strap instead of setting the desired position and then unbuckle the strap? Two buckles would have greatly improved functionality of the compression straps.
Now the biggest problem with this bag and the reason NOT TO BUY THIS BACKPACK! is the padding in the laptop compartment. The padding at the bottom the bag is not sewed correctly. There is no padding at the bottom on the bottom of the laptop! When my macbook is in the sleeve it pushes the padding to the side.
This is the most vulnerable section of the laptop while stored in a bag. I cannot believe this passed muster when it was being produced. I cannot keep this bag, I was looking for a stylish bag that could carry and PROTECT my Macbook but this bag fails miserably. For the price I would have expected better.
Maybe I got a defect? Solo if you're reading this, I would be willing to try a replacement to see if the padding issues are an error and not a design mistake.

This backpack seemed perfect for me working as a technology teacher. I loved the color, the generous size of the water bottle pockets, and that it could stand on it's own. I didn't like the fact that while walking at school the laptop compartment unzipped and my laptop crashed to the floor.

Backpack is just the right size with plenty of compartments and many various sized pockets inside. It also appears to be built very well, A high quality product.
