Excellent so far

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This cooktop heats up pans quickly and stays hot. I can start searing my steaks almost immediately in my cast iron pan, and keep my cast iron wok blazing hot. Boiling water of course is quick, and coming from a gas cooktop, the glass surface is a breeze to clean.
A few cons, however:
- The largest "burner" is in the back. My wife is shorter (5'2"), and has trouble seeing over taller pots when using this burner. This burner probably would have been more useful front and center.
- The capacitive buttons accidentally get pressed when liquids drip on them or other pots/pans get pushed accross them.
- Wifi was a pain to set up, and mostly useless.

I LOVE this cooktop!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a die-hard gas cooking fan and never thought I would like electric. I needed something to work in our new house until we remodeled the kitchen, so I chose this as a temporary fix. I am now an induction convert. I love this! It gives me more temperature control than even a gas cooktop. It is very easy to clean. A quick wipe with a damp cloth and the cooktop looks like it's never been used. Because the top doesn't get hot, it's safer for my kids and my poorly behaved giant dogs. Plus it's supposed to be the most energy-efficient type of cooktop. Because it's Bosch, I anticipate it will be as reliable as my other Bosch appliances. I couldn't be happier.

I'm converted!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was nervous about going to induction, but the lure of avoiding combustion in the kitchen and the safety qualities won me over. It was an adjustment, no doubt - but I'm glad I made the move. Once you learn the settings, it is quite easy to cook with; pans heat up quickly and there is little residual heat when heat is turned off.
I've also noted that the couple of new non-stick pans that I bought still look spanking-new on the bottom after a few months. Not hot grates underneath to bake on any food perhaps?
The only thing I miss from my gas cooktop is individual controls for individual burners. (Here you select which burner you want to set, then choose the heat setting.) That would be an improvement.

Bosch 800 Series Cooktop
on October 21, 2021

Bosch was purchased, even though it was more expensive than Maytag, Empava or Kitchen Aid because it was percieved that Bosch would be superior in useability and service.
The experience has been quite disappointing.
The cooktop turns itself off unexpectedly then beeps when an attempt is made to turn itself back on. The controls have been studied via the Use and Care Manual for hours but make little sense. The Manual has two pages on how to operate the cooktop via WIFI and half a page on how to cook with the unit. (Under what circumstances would one want to operate a cooktop remotely or via WIFI?)
The only thing about the cooktop that is harder than cooking with it is getting customer service. A call was made to there customer service line and hold time was forty-five minutes. The person who answered the phone has no knowledged of the appliance and no means of connecting to some who had infomation.
It looks like the only solution is to send the unit back to Bosch and buy another brand.

Love hate relationship

I love the way my cooktop works. I hate how the glass shows every touch and droplet of liquid. I have had glass cooktops in the past and they never were this bad.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Better Than Gas
on August 27, 2021

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I always loved cooking and thought gas was the best way to cook. I am mistaken, induction cooking is so much more energy efficient, cleaner and better control over the cooking temperature than gas. The Bosch NIT8069UC is so easy to use and fulfills all my induction cooking concerns. Heats up fast and easy to use.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Went from jennair cooktop w downdraft to this cooktop w sep downdraft. After lots of cooking by both of us, Induction cooking is a pleasure to use. Odd it's so popular in Europe but not here in US. Haven't tried the Wifi aspect but seems cool but overkill
