Very Pleased

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] In our 36 years of marriage, we've never had or tried an induction cooktop, nor have any friends who have one. We both cook a lot, as eating out has too much sodium. I would say we are beyond happy with the cooktop and matching telescoping downdraft HDD80050UC. Love the instant heat and precise heat control and countdown timers. Also, the downdraft unit draws very well and would give that a five star as well. Love the easy to clean metal air filters. Not sure why we Americans don't buy induction cooktops. If had to do over again it would be a gimme decision. Did have to rebuy two pots that were aluminum and a popcorn popper. Very clean design and cleanup has been especially easy w no scrubbing ever. Didn't have to change our 40amp breaker.

This unit is sleek and and heats pans really fast.
This is a learning curve with an induction cooktop and takes a little practice. Also you need to have the correct pans. You have complete control over them temperature of the pan and when you go to high it reacts very fast and when you go low it reacts just is fast. Also very easy to clean.
The only fault I can find is that the touch controls are not very responsive, but that could due to grease or smudges. Other than that I would recommend this unit.

Love my new induction cooktop!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was looking forward to cooking on induction but was nervous about learning how to use it. I was afraid I'd have all sorts of cooking failures. But no, it is easy to use! I love how easy it is to keep sparkling clean (I had an electric glass cooktop previously). AND, I found that the online searches I did about making popcorn (every day for lunch) were wrong, there's nothing different or special and the popcorn is better than on our old cooktop. We chose the cooktop inset into our countertop and have a Bosch wall oven below and the look is beautiful. I highly recommend this cooktop (and the wall oven too!)

Rock solid engineering, performance as promised

Switched from electric cooktop to induction. I was skeptical initially with induction, so went and bought a standalone portable induction cooktop to get a feel for it. The precision controls make a huge difference. Went with Bosch based on reviews and am quite happy with it. The controls are programmable, the model I bought is WiFi enabled, so it let's me control some basic stuff and notifies me. One can set limits on power levels and shut off timers (cook for 12 minutes at level 3 and turn off), very useful when you leave something to slow cook and need not be around. Needs a bit of patience to get the right levels but after that it is a breeze. For the curious, it also tells how much power was consumed for each session.
I would recommend this to a friend!
