Inaccurate at best

Have struggled with this particular model for 10 months after replacing an old Omron monitor that simply wore out from use. This new cuff is very difficult to attach correctly to arm so I get a lot of error messages. The readings are a good 30% lower than my doctors so I no longer have faith in this rather new device. I wish I had my old unit working again.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am an avid user of Omron Blood Pressure Monitors. My deceased husband and I had a grocery list of medical problems which included high blood pressure. I had uncontrollable hypertension even being on medication. My husband had Multiple System Atrophy MSA a rare disease that has Parkinson's like symptoms. He suffered with both hypotension as well as with hypertension. So it was essential that we monitored our blood pressure on a daily basic. It was through a new doctor listening to my sleep complaints that she ordered a sleep test. I was diagnosed with mild sleep apnea. After sleeping with the CPAP machine for three months, both my doctor and I noticed a remarkable difference in my readings. I take my blood pressure daily upon rising in the morning and before going to bed at night. I still have to take blood pressure medication but I now get readings that are within normal range. Adjusting to wearing a CPAP mask was difficult but actually seeing the remarkably improving normal blood pressure readings made it easier to fight the difficulty until I could adjust. The blood pressure monitors are so easy to use. Even my husband learned to take his own blood pressure and was proud of himself that he could do it. Because hypertension runs in my family I purchased blood pressure monitors for both my son and my daughter. They both know the seriousness of hypertension but I don't believe they would have purchase a monitor on their own. I have been using Omron Blood Pressure Monitors for over 2 decades plus because they are very easy to use but most important accurate and reliable.

Not a Winner for me

This replaced an Omron monitor I had used for about 6 or 7 years that stopped giving accurate measurements. The new one does seem to be quite accurate although I have seen wide variations lately. I think it is probably me though. The one thing I really HATE is the cuff provided. It is different from the ones I have used in the last 40+ years and I find it awkward and uncomfortable. I am considering buying a new monitor with a soft "normal" cuff. On the plus side I really like the irregular heartbeat monitor and the 2 user feature. I had neither feature on my old Omron, but I did have a printer, something I miss.

Replace Cuff

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great device but after seven years my BP785 began reading high and acting erratic. I traced it down to a bad cuff which evidently should be replaced every 5 years. No mention of this was on the device or on the cuff. Omron should put an expiration date on the Cuff

This machine is no good especially the soft style cuff. It doesn't work and gives incorrect results. If you read the size and it says 9" arm should fit the cuff but it is really too big for 9" arm. Customer service was also no good.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When you get to that point in your life and you need to start looking at the numbers... it is time to get an Omron, and no not a Transformer. It works, it keeps the information, and is not so loud as previous models.
