Keep changing batteries......

This is my second monitor same model number. Every few readings I have to change my batteries or it won't work. I test the batteries and they are all good. I took one back and ordered another one. Both did the same thing. So disappointed with Omron. Always used their monitors. Now I have to find a different company. So sad...
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Omron Reliability

I am very happy with my BP 742 as both my wife and i use it. We had it calibrated at our cardiologist and it it right on. The real story, though, starts almost 20 years ago when we bought our first Omron machine. We thought it was great and used it to take BP readings of all of our friends and family. While taking my mother in laws BP, it kept showing wild readings which we thought was the machine. Unnerved , she went to a doctor who diagnosed her with atrial fibrillation,put her in the hospital and had a procedure done to correct it. That same machine is now owned by my daughter , who continues to use it weekly.. and that is the reason why, when choosing a new BP machine, Omron was the only contender for us.

Sleeve too big

The sleeve will not go down enough for her.
Need optional size sleeves for it.

Battery life very short

Don't buy unless you intend on buying a lot of batteries. I've had it about a year. I get about six to seven blood pressure readings out of it and then the battery is down to half and very soon they have to be replaced. I do make sure that I turn it off after every reading.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have had three different monitors in the past 6 years and they can't compare to this new Omron unit I purchased two weeks ago.It's very easy to use and compared to other units in doctor's offices, it's very accurate. Its the best thing I have purchased in the last twenty years. Thank you Omron...

A little over a year ago, our elderly Omron BP Monitor needed replacement because the buttons failed after many years of service. We replaced it with an Omron 10, based on that good service. We liked the monitor, but hated the stiff cuff supplied with it. We got error messages about 3 out of 4 times since it was new. The cuff failed recently and we called Omron to purchase a replacement. We told the customer service rep about our dislike of the cuff and wondered if we could get a replacement like the old one had. He said it wasn't available with the 10, but was available with the Omron 5 BP742N. We told him we'd like that much better so he told us he'd send one to us and include a shipping label so we could return the 10. No charge for either transaction! We're very pleased with the Omron 5, so far. It hasn't missed a reading yet.

Am so happy with this purchase. Got it last week, ordered from omron website. Easy ordering and product was delivered quick. Would definitely purchase all accessories online and same brand. This machine will keep my hypertension and heart checked all the time.
