Wow what a great cook top

I have owned very expensive cooktops in my lifetime. From Thermador to DCs. I don't want to say anything negative about those products they're very good products at two to three times the price of a GE Cafe Cooktop. And I'm here to tell you those burners are precise. The variety of DTU selectable will allow me to cook my sausage or sear meat perfectly. I'm actually shocked and amazed about the performance. My wife and I do not go to restaurants we love to cook at home. Not to brag but some people think I should open a restaurant. But my family owned a restaurant that's just too much work.

Pretty but not powerful

Cooking is a big part of each day. We prefer to eat at home and prefer to cook meals from scratch. That being said I have had some wonderful cook tops over 28 years of marriage. We recently remodeled a kitchen and decided to go with Cafe appliances all around. This cook top looks professional and has a nice burner layout. However, it lacks in power. Even the high burners take their time heating a pot of boiling liquid or reaching a searing point. I have cooked long enough to work around it but it can be frustrating for timing a meal. This cook top is excellent for the average person who does some to little on the stove top. This is not the cook top for a chef.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Beautiful new cooktop

Beautiful new Cafe cooktop that is replacing an older GE Monogram. It has very sturdy new grates and the burners work great. The looks are very nice and the light under the burner controls to indicate when lit is a very nice feature - I didn't know I would appreciate that until I had it. Well done, GE.

Excellent cooktop

I wanted a cooktop with a controlled simmer and this one has that feature and it works very well. Also really like the placement of the knobs. Being centered like they are, they are never in the way of a large pot. Plus really like the lights under the knobs when they are turned on. Excellent safety feature. Very pleased over all. Definitely recommend

Durable yet attractive.

At only 36" this range is spacious, the grills are heavy duty and extremely stable yet each removes independently for cleaning. I splurged for the copper knobs for a very classy look. While the LED lights in the knobs offer a very modern look, their real value is the safety feature which I already experienced when a burner was left on. I LOVE this cooktop!
