Great Wall Micro/Oven

The convection oven works great and is quiet, the fan cool down after cooking is also quiet, barely noticeable. Looks great next to our Frigidaire Gallery Fridge! Highly recommended!

Run, don't walk, away from this unit.

This combo micro/oven came with our new home and has been problematic since day one. First, it was installed improperly so the oven didn't work at all. The builder rectified that problem, but during troubleshooting they said that they had to swap out two others in that same week because of issues with it either not heating properly, or the microwave not working. After almost 12 months to the day, the oven stopped maintaining a consistent temperature. Every time you open the door, the temperature goes down, but it never cycles back on when you close the door. Unless you constantly reset the temp, it keeps getting cooler and cooler. Even when you do reset the temperature, because whatever your cooking hasn't been heated consistently, nothing cooks evenly. Forget about using recipes - we now have to make everything up. We specifically purchased the extended warranty thinking that the repair guy would fix it, but they've been out twice and it still isn't fixed. Can't wait to simply replace it with something made by a reputable manufacturer.

After 3 weeks the electronics went crazy.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] By itself the oven timer would start and count down and turn on the broiler(the control panel wouldn't let us shut it off), then the timer would start again and turn on the steam clean. this kept cycling through the settings beeping all the time until I shut off the circuit breaker. When I turned the breaker on it did it again. I turned the breaker off this time for over 6 minutes. We are awaiting the repairman in another 9 days to install the replacement parts. We bought this oven because the microwave has a swing door and not a drop down. I hope we can trust the replacement part to work properly.

Love the convection

Exterior: We have the black/platinum model and it is really pretty! It goes well with our other appliances and I really like the look of 2 colors. Fingerprints do not show... and this was important to me.
The “buttons” are computerized and have a very nice/clear format.

Microwave: Quiet and fast! It comes with glass rotating tray. The control panel is intuitive and self explanatory. It literally cleans with a simple wipe.
Oven: This family of five uses the oven almost every night! Our prior oven had some years on it! This is light years ahead of what we replaced. It is hard not to open the oven and door and not say, “ Ahhhh!!!l”. The lighting is bright and the inside walls of the oven are perfect and smooth with no heating element visible! The shelves are the nicest I have seen! Handles to pull out and stoppers on them to stop the shelf as you pull it out. Again. A very well built machine with great looks.
The oven seems to be super efficient. We have baked and cooked everything from pork roasts to cookies! It has an attachable meat temp probe that is very convenient as well!
As with the microwave, the cleaning of this unit is a breeze. Quick and with no parts to work around once you remove the shelves.
We give this 5 stars due for it’s look, efficiency, and high tech functioning. It is also very easy to clean!

Like my new combo

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this combo to replace an existing oven & microwave combo that was failing. My main reasons for purchasing this model was to match the existing hole cut in my cabinets, AND to get a swing door instead of a drop down door on the microwave. If I didn't need to fill the same space in my kitchen I would have preferred to purchase two separate units. The published measurements didn't quite match with the actual and I had to purchase an additional filler from a third party. The pull-out oven rack is a nice feature but it takes up more space in the oven. It would be much nicer if there were notches to place one of the racks LOWER in the oven. The microwave works fine. My only complaint is that the means for setting variable power cooking is different from every other microwave I've owned/used and it is limited to only 10-20-30...etc %; I was accustomed to directly setting the power level I wanted to use, such as 75%, on previous microwave ovens.

I love my new combo ovens!

The microwave is a bit of a learning curve, as it is quite powerful at 1200 watts. And I have already had the pleasure of roasting a turkey in my new convection oven in about 2/3 of the time my old oven would have taken. So far, so very good!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love how this oven cooks! My only 2 complaints are how loud it is heating up (though it does heat very quickly) and cooling down, and the fan in the back of the oven interferes with the depth.
