Great Performance with Simple Controls

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When our 1990’s vintage workhorse Whirlpool double wall oven was overcome by lightning we replaced it with this Frigidaire Gallery. We use our oven daily - roasting and broiling veggies, baking cookies, pies, making pizza, garlic bread, lasagnas, and so many other things. We upgraded to a convection oven and love the additional cooking options that this brings to our kitchen. Pizza crust and other rising dough baked goods really turn out better with a combination of convection and conventional baking approaches. This oven preheats very fast and has great thermal and acoustic insulation. It is much more quiet and throws much less heat into our small kitchen during use than the old workhorse we had. Besides the elegant look and convection features of this oven, the other feature that lead us to purchase this oven is the complete simplicity of the controls. Two button pushes and you are baking or broiling. I love computers and technology, but this is an oven folks - don’t overthink it! Internal oven lighting is fantastic, stainless steel and glass doors are beautiful. Our small kitchen has never looked or worked better in the 18 years that we have prepared meals in it. I do have a couple of tips to anyone installing this oven on their own. Pay close attention to the oven depth dimension. I did have to modify the depth of the large cabinet the oven is mounted in to get the minimum depth with a little margin. Also VERY IMPORTANT this oven is heavy, but if you heed the instructions and remove the doors prior to installation, it is a breeze with two strong people. You’ll need a third person to guide the power whip to where it needs to go while the other two muscle the oven frame into place. Also another great feature is the sliding rack, I did think it was a little strange that packaging indicated to remove the lubricant tube from the rack, but there was none included?? The rack seems to slide just fine without it. I guess it was lubed at the factory :) I would buy this oven again in a heartbeat!

I am very happy with the ease of learning how to use the oven. I love the how easy the shelves pull out and I am enjoying the quick preheat feature when I am in a hurry. Overall, happy with the purchase so far!

Controls turn themselves off

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We like the look of the oven and it bakes great. Our problem is that it turns itself off when you open the oven door and hot air escapes. It act like you are pressing buttons. Sometimes it starts the timer, but most the time it just turns off.
