After only one year it is broken

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We had our previous ice maker for 20 years and the new one broke after just a year. It also gets mildew on the inside which never happened with the old one. Hopefully it will be repaired under warranty.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Kitchen Aid undercounter icemaker

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this ice maker less than a year ago. It has quit making ice and the service rep. that has been assigned can't seem to get it fixed. I am very disappointed in the ice maker but even more so the poor service provided by Kitchen Aid for their product.

SOOOOO LOUD!!!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have had this ice maker a little over a week. At first we didn’t even notice it was here. Now it is so loud we have to turn it off to watch TV or turn the TV up as loud as it will go. Very annoying and frustrating.

No good, have had multiple repairs still not fixed

I bought my ice maker June 2023. By September 2023 it stopped making Ice. They have been to my home 4 times to repair the third time he took the ice maker completely apart with all the machine all over my kitchen floor he even had to weld part of it. He put it back together and the machine started making extreme loud noise by that evening. I had to turn it off I had to wait tlll Monday to call. He came back this past Friday and could not find anything wrong and it started making ice. So the day after Saturday it started it again not making ice and making loud noise.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not recommended

We bought this in our new house in 2017. It has sprung a leak that we still can't locate and ruined our pantry wood floor.
It worked great for a while but such catastrophic failure (with no warning!) is totally unacceptable.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Worst appliance I have ever owned

From the out set the ice maker was a disappointment. First ice machine has broken down twice with expensive service calls. Second the machine dose not keep the ice that is made cold enough resulting in constant running.

Bad pump stopped working

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The ice machine stopped working just a few weeks after install. We had to initiate a repair by an authorized repair team & they determined the pump is bad and needs replaced. Unfortunately, we are in the same situation with our brand new JennAir dishwasher which was installed the same day. It is being replaced by the store we bought it from. Seems like Whirlpool is having an issue with their pumps? Not a good experience to finish off our major kitchen remodel. Been happy with KitchenAid in the past so this is very disappointing.
