I am very sorry this happened to you. It is confusing that some models like yours (Officejet 8010 series) can't use the HP 916XL, while others (Officejet 8020 series) can.

I am very pleased with this printer and the functions that it has. The only down sides to this is that it seems to run out of ink rather quickly and sometimes it takes a few tries to scan documents.

Works as advertised (it eat) but this product is so way overpriced it's unbelievable. Next time? I find a good cartridge and then look up to which printer it goes.

Price was good. Quality is not great but good. The cost of ink is way too expensive. I printed 100 pages and went through two entire sets of ink cartridges.

Great product as are most HP products. We have several HP printers which are all very compatible with our "Apple" devices. My only complaint would be the slow time frame in receiving new cartridges upon ordering unless you enroll in the auto-ink refill contract which in our case was not cost efficient.
