Dreadful!

The "instruments" in this collection cannot claim to be offer more than a tiny "click" sound! The cymbals are barely audible, the tambourine can make a tiny bit of noise if an adult shakes it really hard, the maracas are barely audible and the clapper is so stiff that I can barely make a sound with it unless I hit it against my other hand. This is really disappointing! (the triangle is okay - and the string coming off is par for the triangle course.) You would be better off going to your local music store and getting the instruments individually. You would get better quality and it would not cost much more than this set. VERY DISAPPOINTING!!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Fun for kids and muffled sounds for the parents

The instruments are great for the toddlers but muted for the adults which I love. The only thing I would change is have an option to get the instruments in a bag.

I enjoy purchasing products from Melissa and Doug as the quality is usually high and the toys align with the types of toys powered by imagination, rather than batteries that we want for my 2 year old granddaughter. However, I regretted purchasing the Band in a Box because, as others said, the kazoo didn't work and was made of rough wood. And the other instruments barely made a sound. After a few minutes beating the tamborine with the mariaches, and getting frustrated with the kazoo, my granddaughter lost interest.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The maracas make almost no sound. If someone is playing another instrument you cannot hear the maracas! The Clapper is also very soft. We were very disappointed when we saw a kazoo in our box. It does not work and it is very rough wood. My grandson plays musical instruments at his music class And was disappointed when it did not have a triangle in his box. As many of your picture show. This product was a big let down on Christmas Day.

One major problem

We got this for Christmas for our son. Everything is great except the wooden stick used to hit the wooden instrument. It is made of pressed wood and my son had a bite out of it before we had even thrown away the wrapping paper. I thoight t would be ok but my 8month old was just sucking on it and was choking on bits of wood coming off. So that one piece is poorly made.
