This is a crib toy, designed to be hung up. I did not understand that from the description and would probably have purchased something else. When not hung up, it lays flat, does not sit up as in the picture. But it's cute.

My twin 16mo old grandchildren love this pelican. They are intrigued with watching the food drop into his belly. They feed him constantly as we keep him anchored to the stairway so he's accessible. They also take turns, which is wonderful, and squeal wth delight as they feed and retrieve the food. Lots of fun!

I was a gift, but good news! The little critters were well loved. This will be a growing up to gift for a soon to be toddler. A learning experience with the critters going in the mouth and then magically appearing in the tummy! How does that happen? A toy that has many dimensions and will be loved for a long time.

This is a hoot for any 9 month old who likes to pick up and place a toy in another location. The older sisters will probably get a kick out of practicing with him.

I was actually very disappointed with this toy. First off the pelican doesn't sit he's very frumpy I thought maybe there was a base for him to sit up. I also thought maybe there was a flap for a hand to make him pretend eating but there wasn't. But that's my fault for not reading into it. I def think they should at least make him sit up.

I loved this idea of this toy when I saw it online! The online pictures show the baby putting the small critters in the STANDING pelican's mouth and also the pelican sitting! I was very disappointed to learn the pelican does not stand or sit. It's just a floppy cloth toy that sits all folded on itself...its difficult for a baby to maneuver...but the little critters are cute
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is a very cute toy! I know the 1 year old I am giving it to will love it. Again, she will get to do to this toy what Mommy does - feeding it! It squeaks when the mouth is opened, and the child gets to see the food drop into the pelican's tummy. Little children love repetitive tasks and this is a perfect toy for entertaining and teaching the child.
