TERRIBLE Support

I purchase a Meural Canvas a few years ago from Best Buy. After 20 months of ownership, the canvas developed a shrill buzzing sound when on.
I emailed support and they confirmed the canvas is defective. They also said the warranty is only 12 months and they could do nothing for me. SO, if you purchase a Meural Canvas, please be prepared to spend hundreds of dollars for what might soon become a paper-weight.
I wish I had just spent the money on a piece of real art!!!
ALSO - I have a Meural annual membership. The process of cancelling it has been a big hassle and I still don't know if it's cancelled.
Here's what I did to cancel it: 1) I signed into my Meural account and thought I had cancelled it there. However, I kept receiving emails saying the membership was going to auto-renew. I thusly signed into my Meural account again and saw that it was very unclear if my membership had actually been cancelled. 2) I contacted Netgear (the parent company) support via email. They said to call. 3) I've now called twice, taking 30 minutes of my time to do so, and both times I was hung up on. Apparently, the person on the other end of the phone couldn't hear me. I used a Google Pixel 5, which is only a few weeks old, to make the calls. I has full cell reception and have never had problems before with people hearing me on calls.
Lastly, if this review hasn't convinced you of the potential hassles awaiting you if you purchase a Meural, please google "Netgear reviews". Again, Netgear is the parent company of Meural. After this Google search, you will see the abysmal reviews Netgear has as a company. For example: 1.3/5 on Trustpilot as of the writing of this review.
Please do yourself a favour and buy a piece of real art. Don't end up with a bad case of buyer's remorse as I have!

A beautiful wall picture frame

I bought this frame for viewing my photos and for displaying some art work from time to time. The only negative I have at the current moment is the fact that it lacks operational instructions in the box. You have to go to the netgear website and from there search for instructions (or help). Netgear is more interested in selling their art work ( which is front and centre on their website). You have to work your way to their knowledge base and/or community forum and you'll find a Q&A section. Anyhow all that said, I love the unit so far, mind you the software program is not the most user friendly, they have a lot of work (upgrades) yet to do. It's not a Plug and Play. In order to get the most out of your new frame, you need some basic techy knowledge on how to Crop and resize your photos. I view my pictures mostly in the horizontal position (16:9 format). Unfortunately, most pictures taken with a mobile phone are taken in a vertical 9:16 format thus making it sometimes impossible to crop and/or resize to view horizontal 16:9 ( unless you don't mind having a small vertical picture in the centre of frame with black space (letter boxing) on either side. I prefer full frame pictures, with no letter-boxing. Or spend more money and buy their frame swivel bracket that allows you to physically turn (swivel) the frame vertically to view your full frame 9:16 photos. (a bit of a pain)
I prefer to upload my pictures to the frame using my PC where I can use a 3rd party app to crop and resize my photos before uploading them to the Meural frame. Just log-in to my.meural.com and work from there for uploading. You can of course also upload picture from your mobile phone ( using the mobile app) but I find it a bit more cumbersome and not as practical as working from a PC.

Yes it is a nice product when it works. First one I received was deffect. Glad I bought mine at Best Buy, they ordered me another one . The less I can say is that you have to be very resourceful to learn how to use their software. Still try to figure out what these 2 big white buttons in the back are for. Very little help online , not much instruction.
