Very Disappointed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Installed the ice maker in August. Two months later, it stopped making ice. Several days before repair man could come. Diagnosed a failed pump. Ten days before a new one could be installed. Ice maker still would not make ice. Now, waiting for a third repair visit. Approaching two months with no ice!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Working Great So Far

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Installed a week ago and working great so far. The unit is much quieter than our previous ice maker. The only sound you hear is the cubes falling into the bin. Reliability on the Whirlpool is predicted to be better than most other models.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Nothing but issues with this ice maker

Here we go again. Woke up this morning to ice maker not making ice again....This unit is a replacement for the model identical to it. That one lasted about 8 years. About a month after the warranty was out, it would not turn back on after we had turned it off to go on an extended vacation. After messing around with it for about a week, it started working again on its own. I have had issues with it not making ice and seems to reset itself after turning it off and letting it set for an hour or so. New issue this morning. Unit was beeping every 15 mins or so. When I opened the door, there was little ice in it. Tried to "reset" the unit. When it started to fill up with water, if just kept filling up the pan. Had to turn the unit off to get the water to stop running....Very aggravated with this unit. We did not have these issues with the previous one. I feel appliances are not being made to the old standards and with pride anymore. They are not built to last anymore. Will replace with different brand if unable to get it working again. For the price, it should of lasted more than 17 month....
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Best icemaker I've found

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the 4th or 5th icemaker like this that I have purchased over the past 20 years. Great CLEAR ice in small cubes that are perfect for drinks or ice chest. They are expensive and they require regular cleaning to keep them working but it seems that is just the price you pay for great ice.
I would recommend this to a friend!
