I used to have a TomTom and it was good, but this Garmin GPS has a lot more features. So many things can be configured to exactly how you like it. There is a lot of info on YouTube on how to configure and use it. I like this more because it gives you junction views if you're on a highway...something Cell phones using Google maps usually don't.
The pronunciation of simple streets is weird some simple street such as hardwood is almost incomprehensible. I updated the maps after purchase but it seems to work better in USA than Canada. You have to input the street exactly if it’s avenue or street etc. I found it really strange, sometimes I don’t follow the exact instructions like I will stop to a store on my way and then I continue to my destination, I will be on the street forest for example but the satellite doesn’t recognize it, it will tell me turn on forest street at your right, when I am already driving on forest. It’s good for signaling when an exit is coming up.
Don’t buy a Garmin. Mine lasted 1 year. Thought it was the battery, so I took it in for a new one. The specialist tried putting in a new battery, couldn’t believe it, so he tried another battery , nope. It’s done. So disappointed. Never again will buy Garmin.
Good (Sale) price so off to a good start. Wanted a new reliable GPS for visit to GB but map price was ridiculous as I could have bought the whole thing in GB (on sale) with GB maps for what I was charged for a map chip. Will mostly be used in Canada so little choice but still want a moan! I have had no problems with it so far and it has worked as it said it would.
The Screen is not large enough. Not Your Fault. It was a gift and I know little about them. We will be returning it for something with a larger Screen. Thanks for following up. Your Attention to Detail is what makes Best Buy/Geet Squad a Winner.
