Giant Waffle Blocks for Giant Fun!

These are loads of fun with our 4 year old grandchild! Even though the morning was chilly and breezy, and the ground was squishy and muddy, we got to play outside with these today! So many ways to learn how things are designed to work, and how they can do even more. Built a ‘Table and Chairs for Four” with two sets, and had our snacks there. These are expensive, but will last and last!

This is probably one of the best sampling opportunities that I have ever been a part of. When I opened the box my daughter automatically started naming the colors. We looked at the designs on the side and spent so much time laughing and assembling. Assembly was so fun to watch. If the block didn't line up my daughter would twist and turn it until it fit and it was amazing to watch her tiny little brain figure that out. She comes home from school and goes directly to her blocks just wanting to build. It doesn't matter if it's a "house" our a colorful walking path, she just enjoys them and therefore I enjoy them too. I received this product for free in exchange for an honest review.

Hours of fun play!

My child absolutely love the big waffle block set. There are multiple ways to connect the blocks and although they are big and sturdy they are light enough for my 2 year old to pick up. At first he connected them to make a play mat on the floor and with some help he was able to see that you could build some structures standing up. The age range is 2 -5 years old and a 4 or 5 year old could easily build a structure standing up on his/her own. My child played for hours in the playroom with this. I also brought it to a neighborhood party. The kids were able to use it outdoors on a surface that wasn't completely smooth. it entertained young and old kids alike. We even had 8 and 9 year old playing with it. the blocks were easy to wipe down and clean afterwards.

We bought these for our toddler, she loves making houses/forts. My only grips are that the set is too small to make a proper house/fort. I will need to purchase another set to really make it fun. My second grip is that some of the waffle blocks are "loose" and do not hold together, while others are tight which allows for the best fort building. I really wish all the pieces joined together tightly.

Great for creative play

Our three 5-year olds love the waffle blocks. They particularly like to build castles and houses with them, but they have also used just a few of them to build seats for a theater performance. The blocks are very durable and can be used indoors as well as outdoors. They are also very light-weight so children will not have trouble handling them.
It would be better if the set contained a few more blocks but we made do with blankets that served as a roof to the buildings we created. The children also sometimes have difficulties putting the blocks together because you need some strength to push them into each other or need to rotate them to get a better fit, but this does not keep them from playing with the blocks.

Great product!

My kids (3 and 6) both loved the waffle block set. They like to play with regular sized legos and blocks so they found these BIG blocks fascinating. They had fun building things together. My 3 year old had to have some help at first because he wasn't used to the big blocks but after a few tries he got it down. This product is unique and I have not come across another like it and that aspect intrigued me and my kids. I also like that they stack nicely in a corner after my kids are done playing. It's best played on carpet. I have wood floors and the sound of them falling is loud. I would definitely buy more since I have 2 kids and one package was not enough for both. I recommend this product for anyone looking for a unique gift for kids who like to build things.

I worked at a daycare where these blocks were a huge favorite, so I decided to get some for my own children. About 5 years ago, Santa brought 4 sets. We have since purchased 2 more sets because my children love them so much. My son is now 7 and we actually took the blocks outside for his birthday party in May and all of his friends loved them. My 11 year old will still pay with then occasionally, as well, but not as much. These blocks have gotten more play than any other toy we've ever had. They still look great after all these years. They were pretty pricey, esp since I shipped to Canada, but have proven worth it.

Fun, but...

I really love the idea of the big waffle blocks. My kids are 2, 4, and 5, so the perfect ages to play together and enjoy the same types of toys. The kids were very excited as soon as they saw the box. When we started building together we realized it took my husband and I to actually get most of the pieces interlocked as the kids were struggling with lining it up right and pushing them in together strength wise. No big deal. Then as we started to build things we realized that something had to be really solid to stay together well. A cube stayed together well, but making a tunnel looked good until they tried crawling through. Seemed like the smallest bump to the side had the edges come right apart from one another and crash to the floor. Unfortunately for us, we have all hard wood floors and the sound of it crashing down in our apartment was a giant boom and echo every time. If we had a carpet, I'm sure this would not have been an issue, but hardwood floors and upstairs neighbors with these blocks aren't mixing well. I do still love the concept. I just wish they stayed together a bit better.
