Keep disconnecting. Very unreliable

Cameras keep getting disconnected. one of the camera is installed literally 10ft from th NVR hub, but camera shows video loss and never came back on, tried resetting all, still no luck. all other cameras keep getting disconnected. most far camera is 25 feet away from NVR hub. Horrible from the beginning. please do not sell such products.

The Wi-Fi range can be up to 100ft but the Wi-Fi signal can be reduced by many things around the home. Take into consideration the number of walls the Wi-Fi signal must pass through and their construction. The more solid the building material or the more metal the signal must pass through the more impact it has on the Wi-Fi signal. Also, take note of electrical equipment and other appliances that may affect the Wi-Fi signal.

Some experimentation with locations may be required to get the optimal signal, check the signal strength in the app to give you a guide on the most suitable placement options. Click on the blue box on the bottom right-hand corner to live chat with a technical support agent or contact us over the phone.

Extremely disappointing camera system. Worked for roughly one week. Should not be sold until re engineered and better thought out.

When it works, it works great..

Bought this in Dec. 2019 - one camera was very easy and quick to set up, but second camera was "touchy" - I should have sent it back for replacement right away. Continually disconnected from the WiFi signal and finally died - no power - nothing... Now trying to find a single replacement camera is almost impossible. Still under warranty and waiting to hear if I can send back the broken camera for replacement.... frustrating...
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Why all the negative reviews? This is an awesome unit!

I have had this unit for 6 weeks, easy to install all my cameras are outside a 40 foot radius for all cameras. I purchased a third camera, as I was so happy with the quality of both day and night videos. I read a lot about WI-FI this means from your router to all cameras installed. Install the available app and monitor your house from anywhere you have internet access. Cameras to routers are all encrypted, you pick your own password. If you want when you run your power cables which are supplied very long cables indeed. You can use the available ethernet cable on each camera if that makes you fill more secured. But the security protocols on the cameras meets all routers needs. I have no WI-FI boosters quality of the videos is crystal clear like high definition. The only awkward thing is they use Allen keys to fasten the different angles required, patient is required. Main unit and cameras are fed by two 1350 AMP UPS systems for power failures.
These cameras and unit deserve a 5 plus.
I would recommend this to a friend!

WI-FI does not mean Internet WI-FI; Instructions sparse and in too many places.

FYI - I had one of the cameras pointing through a screen so it wasn't picking up motion. That, and sparse but multiple manuals were time eaters. But the real disappointment was when I finally realized that the Wi-Fi reference was ONLY for 'cameras to hard drive'. Since the system requires each camera to be hardwired to the power, I'm already running wires -- the 'camera to hard drive' WI-FI has limited value. (What I needed was INTERNET WI-FI for a remote location.)

Thank you for reaching out to us. We are sorry to hear about your experience with our Swann Wifi NVR Kit. This unit does use a Wi-Fi connection to run the footage back to the recorder. It will allow for remote access using the AlwaysSafe application that is available for IOS and Android devices. The cameras will require a power source since they are isolating away from the recorder and not battery powered.

If you already have wires ran you can purchase a DVR/NVR that will use a hardwired connection.

Being a newer product with minimal reviews I was a little hesitant on making the purchase being my first security system of any type. But this model hit all the right spots. So far this camera system has been up for roughly 1 month. Everything was packaged intelligently that was promised and even better everything has been working smoothly (for the most part). We've had heavy rain and hi humidity ( New Hampshire resident in July) and no signs of any water damage, fogging ect. My only concern is the effectiveness of the True Detect Heat detection. I get many alerts from bugs flying by the cameras, and one tree that sets it off when the sun is on it and the wind blows from time to time. I expected better performance from the descriptions and videos shown. I have not been able to test the night vision but I am confident it will work well as everything else does. My only recommendation is to make the cables that are permanently attached to the camera longer. That would make installation much easier when feeding lines. I will update in time.

I bought this system to replace another brand that wasn't doing what it said it would do. The Swann 2 camera 4 channel set up was so easy, plug it in push the small button on the camera lead and away it went. The app is also working very well and is easy to log in and view what's happening on my phone.

bad experience with this system

Bought it two years ago, one camera is supposed for front door and the other one is for backyard. But one of the camera kept getting "video loss" all time, it cannot go through 2 wood walls with a 30feet distance. And too bad I cannot use any wifi extender to enhance the signal. So I used two camera for my backyard. Now after around two years, one of the camera is getting "video loss" signs again and you can see the signal bar on TV is getting weaker(only two line instead of four line). That is why I came here looking for additional cameras. it doesn't deserve what you have to pay for.
To be fair, if the wifi connection is not an issue, the video quality for day and night is very good!
