Overly easy, I expected something more complex and intricate from Lego. I understand that Star Wars is starting to gear towards a new audience, in an attempt to brighten it's future, but I just was looking for more.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

For stories with as wide appeal as Star Wars, we always like to have a little something for everyone in the theme. That means you'll find sets like this one - designed to be a perfect start for beginning builders ages 4 and up. And you'll also find Ultimate Collector's Series sets, which are some of our most complex builds aimed at ages 16 and up.
While a lot goes in to determining a suggested age range, how challenging a build is will always be a major factor. If you're looking for more complicated sets, check out the recommended age range on the front of the box or listed in the product description. The higher the age range, the more intricate a set is more likely to be.

Very Nice Lego Set

This lego is very nice, the only downfall is the wings of the tie fighter rattling but overall this is a very good set, it comes with two minifigs and is a very good price for it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great LEGO to crash!

I was hesitant to purchase this set because it seemed so simple and we have tons of other Star Wars sets. However, I overlooked the fact that the simplicity leads to better playability. My 4-year-old son loves to build Legos and builds more complicated ones, but he loves this one. He can crash the TIE fighter and break it without us yelling at him. It is so simple to rebuild that he is back flying in no time.
As a collector, I like that the rebel pilot is different than previous ones and I like the printed Death Star piece.
I would recommend this to a friend!

It has bad wings lacking design and gray outlines plus it is upside down and it’s better to just get it for tie pilots

Sorry that everything wasn’t awesome with the set. Our imperial engineers work hard to make TIE fighters that everyone can enjoy throughout the galaxy and your feedback helps us make them even better. We'll ask R2D2 to forward your comments to our design team. That way, Lord Vader won't get to them.

and the tie fighter gets back up

this took me 5 minutes to build. but i played later with is for 5 hrs before i got bored. but the next day i decided to play even more and didnt get bored
