True story - I dropped my phone off of a ~60 foot cliff with this case on. I watched hopelessly as it fell and landed HARD on the massive boulders below. It took me like 30 minutes to find a way down to my phone, and then to find my phone sitting perched atop a rock, still playing my music, completely unscathed. The case itself had a few minor scratches, but the phone was completely fine. The case has a slim low-profile which is awesome. My only complaint is it has a tendency to begin falling apart after a while of use (and shortly after falling off of a cliff). I've had two in the four years I've owned my phone. Phone still going strong!

I bought this otter box case about a year ago when I got my iphone, it has been okay throughout the year with some minor scratches and damage on my phone but today I dropped my phone from my pocket at about two feet high and my entire screen cracked. I am so upset since this company promotetes their product as a very safe phone case when it really is not.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Despite our efforts of meticulous design, quality materials, and tons of post-production testing to ensure our cases will provide the very best protection available to help limit the potential for such things, unfortunately, any given incident is still going to be subject to a variety of unique dynamics that are at times beyond our control and prevent us from being able to eliminate all exposure to risk.

This is an expensive case. Durability, fit, quality, aesthetics, and everything is perfect. I could have bought 3 or 4 cheaper cases for the price of this one, but the Otterbox is the best and I won't have to replace it next year or deal with an ugly case again. Other more expensive cases have their issues. This is the sweet spot for me.

Just wow

I dropped my second otterbox case into the mechanical section of my couch while I was asleep and proceeded, half asleep, to move the couch up and down with the button, unaware that my phone happened to fall precisely between the only 2 parts that move. I vertically squished my phone with the huge couch during my nap and the case stayed in tact, though the top cracked and bent outward so it's no longer usable. The only damage done to my phone is the back glass cracked, breaking the Face ID device where the cracks are located. I'm beyond impressed that my phone survived that so I hopped on here to write a review before I buy my 4th otterbox case--a solid color to help me forget about my mistake :(
