the best ultra portable BT speakers i have. At this price range, no other speaker brands can match. Great value as budget speaker. In fact, this MW model sounds better than JBL Clip.

The gold standard

I'm not claiming this sounds better than (some) bigger, more expensive speakers -- but for a speaker you can carry in your pocket, it flat out rocks your world. Far bigger sound than you would expect. Miles ahead of units like the Philips grenade-shaped thing. Amazing. I'm an old audiophile who grew up in the golden age of audio equipment (the 1970s). I'm astounded.
This is the gold standard for tiny bluetooth speakers. 10/10.

need to provide more info in instructions

i just bought this speaker system yesterday and i love it so far, it is a great product with great range (distance from Bluetooth device to speaker) and great sound for such a small unit. it seems pretty durable so far but i have only owned it for a day so that remains to be seen over time, the sound quality for its size is excellent but i have noticed that when connected through the built in headphone jack (rather than Bluetooth) it will get distortion at full volume (already afraid i may have damaged the speaker by playing it too loud when this should not be an issue as a quality device should include a speaker capable of handling twice the volume the device can put out specifically to avoid blowing the speaker) I love the Bluetooth capability, it works flawlessly with my Samsung galaxy 2s. and the daisy chaining ability is also very nice as i have seen no other units at all that provide this function. great speaker to use while working in the garage or out in the yard, also nice for in the car. the only feature i wish they would add is a mute button for when someone is trying to talk to you and you cant hear them, sometimes fumbling to find and pause the music on your phone can be a hassle.
i do however have one big complaint.... the lack of detail in the instructions. there is very little explanation on technical specs in the instructions that were included, relying only on vague pictures to explain how to use it... why is there no info on the amount of time it takes to charge the unit? why is there no mention of whether the unit needs to be fully charged before use? how do you know when the battery is fully charged? and why provide a picture book in place of an instruction manual in the first place?

High quality sound for such a small speaker!

I have just purchased the wireless model (with Bluetooth) and the non-wireless one, to be daisy-chained with the Bluetooth model.
These are my first impressions:
1. High quality sound with remarkably high output, well-balanced across all the frequency range.
Of course, it lacks the real low basses, but it is still amazing how well the (relative) low frequencies are reproduced.
2. The shape is well designed, and it can be easily taken with you in your luggage on holidays.
3. Very nice that it can be recharged with an USB power source!
4. The manual volume control is very useful: the volume can be quickly set just by turning the small 'wheel': it is not necessary to push buttons or diving into some kind of volume menu on the source!
However, I have noticed a (small) problem: the audio is affected when daisy-chaining the non-wireless speaker to the Bluetooth speaker: it is a kind of 'crackling' distortion, and the volume is also slightly lower! This is audible on BOTH speakers!
It only happens when the wireless speaker is connected to the source by Bluetooth. I have tried it with both speakers wired and daisy-chained, and in that situation no distortion is audible at all!
In addition, the Bluetooth speaker (wireless connected) sounds crisp and clear when the other (wired) speaker is disconnected from it!
It looks like the loading of the Bluetooth circuit is critical when it has to 'feed' two speakers....
So I will not use it daisy-chained in case of a wireless connection. In that case I just use the Bluetooth unit on it's own.
I have verified this problem with both batteries fully-charged, so that 'parameter' can be excluded.
I wonder what is the real cause of this distortion. Anyway, I can live with it when I use it in the way as I have described it!
Another question (addressed to the JBL support team): can the battery be replaced when it is exhausted? I hate to have to throw it in the bin when the battery becomes bad (or the audio lead is damaged and needs replacement).
For the rest: GREAT accessory for my phone/tablet/laptop/etc!!!

I brought this as a Christmas gift for myself. Man this has to be one of the best gift I have ever brought myself. The best part was it was marked down so only paid 24.00 bucks for it. The sound for such a small speaker is amazing. When I'm in the kitchen, garage or shower it is playing.

I have tried lots of different portable speakers. I am mostly interested in the ultraportable type that you can really put inside your pocket.
The JBL on tour wireless is no slouch. It is small, very light and it has plenty of power. It is impressively loud, even louder than the so popular jambox, and there is a certain amount of bass, which goes down to about 100hz which is surprising.
It sounds a bit harsh though. Mids are somewhat dominant and the overall output could be improved a lot, if some dynamic processing was applied.
At low listening levels this speaker sounds no better than a mobile phone, it could get along with some bass-boost. I tried boosting frequencies between 80-150hz while turning down some middle-frequencies and the speaker really started to live. Of course at higher levels you have to turn down bass, otherwise it will distort. But it would have been fine if JBL did some homework and built in dynamic equalizing to optimize sound for any level. The only processing applied is some dynamic limiting to avoid distortion.
When tuned properly the JBL sounds even better than the Jambox while being smaller lighter and costing a fraction.
It is a pity JBL didn't seem to care to really push this speaker to it's limits!
