Misleading dimensions, trim kit doesn’t fit

The approximate height in NOT 20-7/8”, it is 19”. I now have a 1” gap and can’t build the oven in without significant mods to the (expensive) cabinet. Basically my new stove is worthless and the trim kit a waste of money.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Greetings,

Thanks so much for bringing this to our attention. We're terribly sorry about this major inconvenience and understand your frustration. According to page 2 of the installation instructions, the height is 19-1/8". We'll be sure to pass this to our web team to make any corrections. Wishing you well. Mike@Cafe

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When we designed our kitchen, we knew we wanted stylish appliances and instantly gravitated towards Café. This trim kit is perfect to finish the look of the microwave in our island. I highly recommend it!

Trim kit that no one at GE actually thought throug
on January 29, 2025

So the trim kit comes with the required railing/venting platform for the installation of a GE Cafe microwave. The platform ensure appropriate circulation - I give that part 3/3 starts.
Trouble is the trim kit itself ... looks fine however screws were missing. Ok no big deal. HOWEVER - the screws have a 'channel' in each of the four corners that recess and position the screws. Trouble is when installing under counter you can see the raw screw head! Thing looks FUGLY! GE apprarently never thought to make a plug to cap the screw channel.
I will wind up finding some way to trim it with moulding - that will close up one of the trim kits vents mind you.
But for the amount of money GE Cafe costs I expect better. 0/2 stars for this! Total is 3/5

We are going to be passing your comments about the installation and screw locations over to our product team to review. That way we can look for improvements we can make for our models going forward. Thanks again for sharing this.
