Well designed but for specific uses

We cannot vent our dryer so took a chance on exploring ventless machines that apparently have been extremely widespread in Europe for years. Chose the Whirlpool and am basically happy but it does seem to take extra time to get clothes super dry - depending on how stuffed you make the drum. I accept the humidity and heat as the machine is designed as a heat pump which concept should be understood by the buyer before purchasing. If so, comments of heat and humidity in the laundry room become baseless. Noise level seems to be equal to regular vented machines and yes, cleaning the three filter areas are mildly cumbersome but they support the efficiency of concept of being ventless so accept it as part of the equation or buy something else!

No where in the description are practical things covered, like what kind of outlet/voltage, and if this dryer has a drain tube. What is the point of needing an app and your phone to do laundry? (That sounds like it makes laundry harder.) Why all the delicate touch electronics when simple, reliable mecanical buttons and dials would last longer? Does anyone know the answers?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought the dryer one month ago and I am very happy with the purchase. The ventless feature is great and I'll never go back to a vent dryer.

Great having a dryer you do not need to vent outside. Energy savings are wonderful. Takes a little longer to dry but works great so far

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had the ventless dryer for 3 weeks. Over all I'm happy with the dryer with the exception of the lent trap doesn't fit flush and clothes tend to get caught.

HybridCare filter is poorly made
on January 29, 2016

I have owned the unit for about 6 months and if it wasn't for the HybridCare filter I'd give this 5 stars and recommend it to everyone I know. The filter is flimsy and poorly made. Plus there's a charcoal type filter insert that is getting clogged up that I can't get cleaned out. I have looked everywhere on the internet for replacements and can't find anything. Lint filters are available for every make and model in existence it seems but this filter is no where. I am very very worried about what I will do when the filter finally falls apart.

Too big for stacking
on November 20, 2015

I needed a stacking washer/dryer in a tight space that had a ventless dryer. I was told this was the only one I could get. Although, I was also sold a miele, ventless, stacking w/d for another apartment I own. The Miele is more expensive but smaller and a better fit for stacking. Maybe the salesman assumed I wanted a full family washer/dryer? This machine was replacing a stackied Maytag w/d. Well the machines are perfectly fine for side by side but as a stacking machine they are so large that I have to stand on a step stool to reach the dryer controls. Why would anybody put the controls on the top of a dryer for a stacking machine. Also, these machines are in a closet. They weigh almost 500 lbs. Whirlpool does not have a system in place to move the machines out if you need to service the water lines or the machines. Whirlpool sales people could not even tell me if the machines are serviced in front. I had to have the machines installed on a dolly so that if I needed to move them in an emergency it was possible to move them. They are monster machines and should not be sold as stacking machines. The machines are noisier than my 25 year old Maytag.
