Saves on home heating/AC

I sought for a heat pump clothes dryer over many years, and this was one of two models that became available in the US in 2015. I chose this model because it had faster dry times as reported relative to the other model. Overall I am very happy with my choice. It dries large loads, condenses the water out, and runs it to the drain. It saves money on energy used to dry the clothes, but that alone would not make it worth the money unless you have strong environmental interests. I live in a cold winter climate, and we launder a lot of clothes, so that the dryer runs often. The air that blows through a normal dryer gets blown out of the house, and new cold air comes into the house to replace it, and it needs to be heated. Heat pump clothes dryers like this one do not vent air outside, so you save on the home heating/AC. One small drawback I have found with this model other than slightly longer dry times (with the option for faster ones by selection, at higher energy use), is that it includes a second lint filter that needs to be cleaned every five loads. Cleaning this filter takes a few minutes each week for us. This filter is necessary to prevent build up of lint on the heat pump heat exchanger. Another drawback is that it only rotates one way, so that very large blankets occasionally rotate about a center that stays moist.Bottom line is that it works well for our family needs (6 people, including 4 children), and it dries most items and large loads very well.

Great for non-venting apartments

Couldn't be happier with this purchase. Had it for five months, problem free. We live in a large apartment building, without venting (like most urban new construction), so had been limited to the original euro condensing machines. With a young family, this full-size makes such a difference. We're not using the eco functions at all, so we find it very fast (especially compared to traditional non-venting). We've had no leaks or high humidity, and find it fairly quiet. Compared to non-venting alternatives, it's a home run.

Ventless Dryer, Wow

I remodeled my kitchen and wanted to stack the washer & dryer so I could move the ice box where the washer was. The room was tight and I couldn't have the vent. The vent-less dryer was the ticket. The combo work great together. Thanks

Nailed it, and just in time!

I have been waiting for a Heat pump vent less dryer to be available in this country. When I found out Whirlpool was making it, we ordered immediately. We are building a new efficient home and this dryer will be the star of the show! Now we won't be ducting heated air out of the house every time we dry clothes. We have had it for about two months and it really works great! Clothes are softer and drier than before, and although I don't have a baseline for energy use, our use so far is very low.

I am happy with this dryer, efficient and ventless. Perfect at least until now. I don't want my e-mail to be released to public. Thank you.

AWFUL

Just got it, problem is that it does not perform in the way described in that the air is not just recirculated within the machine for the drying. Instead, the dryer pulls air from inside the home, and blows it back into the house, it removes the lint and some of the mositure, but all the smells associated with laundry and fabric softener permeates throughout the house. In addition, it blows 110 degree heat back into the house throughout the drying cycle. This machine is defective in its design, and is marketed fraudulently. Don't even think ofpurchasing one, you will hate it also.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
