Cute but not child friendly

I bought this for my son for his 3 birthday, but after seeing how small it was when my friend's daughter got one, I decided to open it early. Assembly took a bit but we got it together. My issue is with the door. Anytime it gets opened one of two things happen the handle pops off or the door does. This causes a lot of frustration for both my 2.5 year old as well as myself because I'm constantly fixing it. I expected better quality for the price and for the brand. I also bought the grocery set but we haven't opened it yet, I'm crossing my fingers that the quality of that is better

I am very disappointed that I didn't read the reviews prior to purchasing this diner because if I had, I would not have made the investment. We have always loved Melissa and Doug products and despite the price tag, we were so excited to give it to our 4 year old for her birthday. Unfortunately, the assembly process was a nightmare because the screws don't line up. As a result, the alignment is off on the entire product. I am very unhappy to see that this has happened to several customers and that the issue has yet to be resolved!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love this Diner, it's totally adorable! My grandchildren have played with it for hours. You have to get the diner set to go with it, that includes the accessories that are SO cute too! I highly recommend this, another well made toy by Melissa and Doug! Thanks for the awesome fun!

I was so excited when I saw this diner. Ordered it for my four year old grandson who was coming to visit. He told me many times he loved it. We spent many hours playing. Well built. Already had many play food sets and ordered the diner set with the coffee pot. We had so much fun. Loved it!
