I am using grocery bags that are made into yarn. After attaching the top and bottom, I tied it off, then created a new tie at the bottom on the Dow. I had to unwind my yarn, and I’m not quite sure how much I need for the weaving part.

Horrible Instructions

I feel like I have to leave a review like many others about how horrible these instructions are only to further urge Melissa and Doug to address it. There is so much potential with this product if they figure out how to write better instructions.

I love my loom

I'm a grown-up with no children, but I bought this loom because I wanted to see if I would enjoy weaving without spending a ton of money on a hobby I didn't like. I love it! I've made multiple wall hangings that are absolutely gorgeous and my next project is a pillow. The loom is sturdy, it was super simple to put together, and I actually really like the big chunky needle for doing large stretches of tabby weaving. I can't speak to the instructions because I didn't look at them.
I would recommend this to a friend!

PLEASE TELL HOW TO FINISH THE PROJECTS!!

Basically, as already stated, the instructions just say: sew up the purse to finish it.....What about all the loops at the ends?? Searched all over youtube looking for somebody who might know and everybody seems to have the same frustrations. Please. FIX THIS!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Needs better instructions

My 6 year old daughter loves weaving with the loom. The problem is that the instructions tell you how to do the weaving... but NOT how to do the finishing of the project. For the crafty carry-all purse, it tells you how to weave it and remove from the loom. But then, it basically just says, sew it into a purse and add a button... but doesn't tell you how. Nor does it tell you what to do with the extra looms on the end of the weaving. I have tried looking on the Melissa and Doug website and on you-tube for a tutorial on how to do this... but have found none.

Poor directions & false advertising re: tutorial

Instructions are not nearly specific enough. I finally got it assembled and prepared to watch the video with my granddaughter - however - there is no video at the URL provided!! Now that it’s assembled, I’ll have to guess what ‘tie a section of yarn to yarn’!!

I purchased this product with the thought of a leisurely activity for myself (53 yr old) and others. The evening I made the purchase, I was curious regarding the assembly of the loom due to a mix in reviews of the setup. Finding the assembly easy enough, I was in a therapeutic trance as I weaved my scarf using directions, amazed at what I was creating....I went back to the store of purchase the next day and bought 3 more looms (two the day before) to share with friends and family.
I would recommend this to a friend!
