Great Cup of Coffee - When it Works

This machine produces a great cup of coffee - when it works. You need to expect to get a year, maybe two out of it before it fails and needs replacing. I’m on my 3d machine in 3 years. The first failed because the optical mechanism that reads the coffee pods failed. The second got stuck in the descaling mode and just gave me the dreaded orange flashing light you’ll read about in other reviews. The machine just isn’t built well enough to handle daily use, which is a pity. I stick with it because the coffee is so good not because I’m mentally defective. Besides, in my experience most coffee makers aren’t up to the task any more anyway. It’s a choice between which defective machine gives you the best coffee for the longest period of time, in my opinion.

Great…when it works

This machine makes delicious coffee; when it works. We’ve had this machine for 1.5 years and now we are having problem everyday. Constant yellow or red flashing lights. We keep cleaning and descaling and the late will not stop flashing. At this point we are just wasting pods trying to get the thing to work.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I love my machine so much! I purchased a second for when I’m at my boyfriend’s and one for my mom! It’s so good, it’s replaced my Starbucks runs!

Good while it lasted -- then leaked, then quit

Good while it worked, then...the red flashing death mug. I would unplug the machine and it would work for a few times. Then I had to unplug AND shake it. Then it started leaking from the bottom. Now.... nothing works. It makes the hopeful whirrring and then pfffft. Red light. No coffee. I checked here to see if they've improved the machines since I got mine a few years ago, seems like they haven't. So....I've been opening my remaining capsules of coffee with a knife and using my aeropress.. The capsules are too expensive to risk the machine dying. Frustrating that this is still such a problem.

new power cord, please

I agree with Susanf's review below. My wife and I enjoy the sleek look of the machine. We enjoy the coffee, it is excellent. I also make pour over drip coffee, we do like a variety of coffees. But as the review says, the power cord is a nuisance and eyesore. It is thick and surprisingly rigid, and impossible to "hide". It defeats the visual appeal of the sleek machine.
I would recommend this to a friend!

It won’t last long.

Well. The coffee is amazing. But the machines it comes out of is not. My boy said half of my coffee with it dripping underneath the machine and I barely get any coffee. I’ve descaled it still does the same thing haven’t had it more than a year.

Good, Not Great because of Leaking!

I'm not sure why I have had two of this style leak water. The first machine leaked dirty coffee water and my second one just leaks clean water. Either way I have had to put the Nespresso on a raised platform so that I'm not having to wipe the counter all day long. While Nespresso sent us a new machine, I could not be bothered with telling them again that it leaks. My neighbor has had the same problem so I think it is an issue. But if Nespresso is reading this, I would love a solution -- whether it means replacing it with a third machine or a different one! We love the coffee Nespresso makes and have been satisfied with everything else....but it is a bummer that there is always water that comes out through the bottom.
