Vertuo Next LEAKS, Flawed design

I bought the Vertuo Next. Within a few months it was leaking all over my counter when it was turned on. Nespresso replaced it. A year later the new one Nespresso sent me started leaking and then stopped working. There is definitely a design flaw. The coffee pods are expensive enough, so I refuse to buy another machine. I put the machine away hoping Nespresso will fix the design flaw and replace my machine. I spent a lot of money on the coffee pods. If Nespresso wants my business they will replace my machine and I will continue to purchase coffee from them.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love My Nespresso

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got the Vertuo Next White about a month ago (on sale, great price!) to replace my old Nespresso machine, which still works but was getting really loud and took up more counter space. So far it’s been great. It’s definitely quieter (though by no means is it “quiet”) and makes very good coffee. There are a few details I’m still getting used to. The empty pod bin is much smaller and has to be emptied frequently. The water reservoir is also smaller than I’m used to. Since it’s out of sight in the back, there have been a few times it has run out mid-brew. The second time this happened, I just refilled and let the brew cycle continue where it left off and that seemed to work fine. The lid has to be ALL the way in the unlocked position to close it. If it’s even the tiniest bit toward “locked” it won’t close. And lastly I wish it would brew coffee just a little bit hotter, though in fairness it seems to be the same temp as my old machine. Overall I am very happy with this machine.

Fussy and Not Well Built.

This is my 3rd Nespresso machine and the worst one so far. My last machine stopped making espresso, and there were issues with the lid sticking. I fully expected the Vertuo Next to be an upgrade, but it feels cheap and it’s difficult to close and lock the lid. The crema is not as creamy, but at least it makes espresso. Not sure how long it will last? I looked at Breville, and unless you are wanting to open a coffee shop (high end machines are pricey), their only available machine is the Vertuo Next. I sure hope Nespresso ups their game soon. The pods are too expensive to use with a crappy machine.
