Great Refrigerator

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had this refrigerator for several months. I've had no problems. It runs quietly. It holds a lot of food. It's stylish. Looks great in my kitchen. The only minor complaint I have is that the left door needs to be pushed shut. It won't close on its own. Not a big deal, it just took me awhile to remember to always push it shut.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Not so reliable

I bought this refrigerator back in March 2016 and it worked pretty well until a month ago during thanksgiving when the fridge decided to quit. The temperature would fluctuate from 33 to 41 degrees with the highest setting. Called the repair man and they replaced the freon. Fridge is only 20 months old and it already needed a freon refill? That is not a quality unit at all. Not to mention the door seal had a ripped 5 months ago. All this happening after the warranty expired? I am very upset whirlpool made a product that would not last a minimum of 3 years before breaking down. Right now the temperature is still unstable at all other setting except the highest. That means I have to keep the setting at high which would use more energy and run the compressor longer and cause more wear which shortens the life of the product. I expect the unit to last no more than a year before it finally quits. Oh well, no more whirlpool product for me, as I am going with their competitor if whirlpool doesn't improve their product reliability.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Excellent features

I had similar fridge from AMANA and now replaced it with this product. Very quite and great. Though there is no rubber liner on the door shelves. I have to call it in. It was on display at the showroom.

Freezer freezes over, and door won't stay open

We bought this about 2 years ago and it is ok but if I had the chance I would return it.
The freezer randomly thaws everything out, then freezes over.
We end up having to throw food out because of this.
I have adjusted the temps, but have found no rhyme or reason why it does this.
As others have said as well, the ice maker takes up too much space in the already small freezer.

The 2nd problem are the doors, as soon as you open them, they start closing on you.
I adjust them myself but cannot get them to be stiffer.
It is a pain when the doors are constantly bumping you in the back and I have to keep them open with my elbows while I am putting groceries away or trying to get something out of the fridge.
