shelf gap to back of fridge is too big

As others have stated, the flip cover for the long drawer does not stay attached. My bigger concern is the gap between shelves and the back of the fridge. It is 2 1/4 inches and small soda bottles and condiment containers fall behind. I am concerned if a glass bottle would get wedged in there or break. Also, what if something falls to the bottom and I don't notice it for awhile. Yuck.If Whirlpool could send me new shelves that extend farther back, I would be quite happy with this unit.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bougt this 3 months ago and love it, love it, love it. Since then, my daughter has purchased one like my mine, hers has the water, etc. in the door, and one of my sisters is considering a change from her side by side to the Whilpool French!

It fit!

I chose this refridgerator because it was the only one available that just fit the space the previous refridgerator had occupied. I have been very pleased with the purchase and have gotten over having no choice. The fridge is very quiet. It makes lots of nice small icecubes. I did not want an ice dispensor in the door and appreciate the elegent smooth lines of this fridge's front. Unlike its predecessor, it has a light in the freezer drawer. It does it's job keeping refridgerated food cold without freezing it and keeping frozen food thoroughly hard frozen. And best of all I did not have to remodel my kitchen (again!) to accommodate a big refridgerator.
