I've had my new french door refrigerator for a month now! It's like kitchen artwork, accessory and appliance in one! Whirlpool raised the bar with this model. Best value and quality for money, by far!

Basic is Best

This is the third new refrigerator I have had in seven years! The first lemon was a new to the market three door with a lot of bugs to work out. The second lemon had all the bells and whistles and technology, which, sadly, died an early death. This Whirlpool is about as simple as I could get without sacrificing space and the ergonomics of a bottom freezer. NO COMPUTERS! It has the ease of use and glorious spaciousness of the three door style without the unreliable high tech gadgets. So far, I love it. I wish I had gotten this one first! The ice maker alone blows the other two losers away. It is quiet, keeps perfectly consistent temps (I use a separate thermometer to check). I was burned so badly with the last two lemons that I was beginning to think there was no such thing as a good old fashioned functional appliance. This one may restore my faith! Ask me in 10 years!The ONE THING I wish it had, is an alarm to tell if the door is open. As with the other two three-door fridges, the doors are not as self closing or secure as a two door style. I have left the door ajar just by not manually, actively closing it. The door will not pull itself closed. So the alarm that was on the other two would be a nice safety feature on this plain jane version.

Great space, good design

It is fairly quiet, makes plenty of ice, has lots of space, and cools evenly. The only thing I would change is that the bottom freezer basket is wire and not solid - a few small things have fallen through and had to be dug out.

First French Door Fridge with icemaker in bottom freezer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have only owned this refridgerator for a couple of weeks. Overall it is satisfactory. I previously had a side-by-side. I was surprised that this new one has less storage area in the doors. And that the bottom drawer freezer holds less, although this has a lot to do with not being able to stack very high in order to allow the top drawer to be pulled out over the lower part of the drawer.The refridgerator came up to temprature very quicly and once we got the icemaker connected it began kicking oit ice cubes in just a couple of hours.It looks very nice and so far I have not had finger print issues.
