Fun to hit the Fridge

Until a month ago when we bought our new Whirlpool refridgerator, going to our old 20 year old model was to see if it was still running and well, just to get food. Of course, that is why you usually go to the refrigerator. But now, as we open the door to the attractive interior, the food looks so much more appetizing. Vegetables look fresher, cheese looks cheesier, and leftovers, bring them on! Our new Whirlpool fridge has become a new "fun spot" to visit and enjoy. We have found another simple pleasure of life right in our own kitchen.

care needed with the bins

We bought a full size white 3-door refrigerator for our new kitchen to replace an Amana we have used for years. Our complaint with the Amana product was that the fruit drawer cracked because it refused to be pushed back into place when the door was closed on it. In the store, the Whirlpool model was one of a few that seemingly did not have this problem.In use, however, our experience has been different. Apparently the drawer loading or the low temperature in the working refrigerator affects the sliding friction in a way that makes drawer not work so well. We find we must be careful to make sure the fruit/vegetable drawers are closed before closing the doors in order to avoid breaking the drawer front.We use bottled water, so got a model without any water dispenser. Except for the fruit/veggie drawers and the deli plate bin, there are no closed interior compartments (as for butter, for example). No egg bin, butter dish, or other accessories were supplied. Our magnetic list frame does not lay flat on the curved door surface, though small pictures seem to lay flat enough. Tall, thin bottles, of salad dressing for example, tend to fall over when placed in the spacious door bins.The bottom freezer drawer seems to be built with a funny articulation that causes it to open on the left side first. (This apparently reduces the effort to break the seal.) Otherwise, it tracks smoothly and seems solidly built.The unit is relatively quiet, seems to hold temperature well, and has sufficient capacity and accessibility for our needs.

We bought this 2 months ago. Lots of room. You can change the configuration to make anything fit. The freezer compartment is a little small. Over all I love this refrigerator.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've only had this for a couple of weeks but this frig is really nice. Spacious, interior lighting is great. If I had to pick something that I did not like, I'd like to see the ice bin a little more accessible. Right now it's tucked away in the corner of the top shelf of the freezer so you have to pull out the top shelf almost all the way just to get ice. Not a deal killer, but I would have liked it to be more towards the front.

I bought it on line. Did not realize it had no water dispenser. I new it made ice, but unfiltered ice? If i knew this i would not have purchased!

Excellent Refrigerator

Its good looking and spacious. Having moved from a side by side to a bottom freezer was absolute heaven! The french doors allow great access to put in larger/wider containers. Being able to have the gallon of milk and juice in the door is a big bonus too. The crispers can be set to veg or fruit and really keep them fresh longer.There were only 2 negatives which really aren't all that bad!The ice maker filling is louder than expected but it is only a few seconds so not that big of a deal. In this model there is no filtered water dispenser even on the inside - easily solved if I would have chosen a much more expensive model with ice and water on the outside.
