I purchased about 3 weeks ago. So far I love it! Plenty of space inside. Adjustable shelving. Brightly lit. Ice maker inside freezer makes plenty of ice. I've read older reviews about the freezer door not shutting all the way, but it appears they've resolved this. Closes to a point where a "grab and pull" takes over, assuring proper closure. So far so good!!!

Great Temperature Control

We have had our new fridge about 2 months and I love it. The precise temperature control is great, the fridge is cold and items last longer .The only complaint I have is the humidity, even with the humidity control on there is still lots of humidity in the fridge, would be nice to have even more control over that. Haven't hooked up the water yet so cannot comment on the icemaker or water dispenser.

Ingenious poor man's 'built-in' refrigerator

We're still amazed that manufacturers are still making huge, clunky 36"-deep refrigerators, which stick out a foot or more beyond standard 24" deep cabinetry. And we're too poor to spend thousands of dollars on a 'counter-depth' built in (most of which have lousy frequency-of-repair records!!!). So when we found THIS Kitchenaid refer, which is 29" deep -- we were thrilled (in theory).
Now that we've installed it (a simple slide-in, to the space in our existing cabinets), here's all the other things we ALSO love about it:
1. Gorgeous styling
2. Rock-solid computer-control of the entire mechanism, including digital read-outs of freezer and refrigerator temperatures, plus much more (should be a high-reliability feature).
3. Door left open alarm. Helpful and not annoying.
4. Comparatively "shallow" interior -- eliminates your forgotten food turning into a 'scientific experiment' in the back of the refrigerator.
5. Terrific icemaker and cold water (inside, NOT through the door). Every single 'through-the-door-icemaker I've ever had has broken. So this is a GOOD thing!
6. This refrigerator is the QUIETEST I've ever owned. YAY!
7. Build quality (quality of design and construction) are superb. Everything fits, lines up and is very handsome.

A couple of (minor) gripes:
A. Of the three interior refrigerator DRAWERS, only one can be opened (pulled out) with just ONE of the two French Doors opened. The wide drawer (naturally) and the right hand narrow drawer each STILL require that you open both "French Doors." Thus the double doors are GREAT for not blocking kitchen space when open, but are NOT the time saver they could have been. (A VERY minor quibble).

B. The freezer space is on the smallish side -- that's the major trade-off here for the SHALLOW ("counter-depth") design. Obviously the compressor sits behind the freezer. We had planned on getting a small chest freezer in our pantry anyhow. (The freezer in this Kitchenaid IS adequate, but not super-large). Another VERY minor comment.
C. The stainless steel finish is a magnet for fingerprints. Some other refrigerators we saw have a 'magic' (supposedly), fingerprint repelling finish. We're going to put carnuba car wax on the front, to see if that helps. (Also MINOR).
But we give this a FIVE STAR review (out of five). Thanks, Kitchenaid!
