Dependable Unit

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had my new Kitchen Aid Counter-depth French Door refrigerator now for about four or five months. So far, the quality has been quite good. The unit operates quietly, and all the drawers open and close without coming off track. The icemaker works beautifully. I actually had to turn it off for a bit because it kept the bin full of ice. My food stays cold and the produce bins have great humidity control. The unit is well lit, and I like the alarm feature notification of an open door. However, the capacity (common with counter-depth units) is a bit less than I would have liked. There is a metal strip seal between the upper doors, and it prevents opening the right bin when the left door is closed. I'd prefer if the water dispenser were hands-free. On one occasion the unit froze (top shelf) and it took three days for everything to defrost, including the water dispenser. I have no idea why this happened. Also, the refrigerator drips a bit of condensation onto the rim of the freezer door, and the resulting ice needs to be taken off every few days, but it is not a problem. The unit has a great finish, but I have to wipe fingerprints often. Overall this is a great unit, and I would definitely purchase a Kitchen Aid product again.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought it 3 months ago, and I am so happy I bought it. Changed my kitchen, and my life is better and more easy. No more "Bottles" of water from store. The water is clear, cold, filtered, test great, and connected to hose, so no limit of water, or ice. Easy two doors, and freeze on the bottom. I recommend it to my family, I just love it.

Needs a few adjustments--ice capacity
