I had the old refrigerator for 27 yrs and thought I would have a hard time adjusting, but not the case. I love the amount of room in the refrigerator and also the convience of getting to food in the freezer compartment.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just switched from a side-by-side (old Kitchenaid) to this model.
Pros: Magnetic surface, easy-to-reconfigure shelves, slim profile (my last refrigerator was full size and projected into the room), prolific ice maker, nice water dispenser (though you need to have the door open to use - a bit wasteful)
Cons: Limited freezer space (though you could take this as a pro, since you won't lose food at the bottom and then throw away the forgotten item after you find it), door shelves are a bit shallow, exterior shows fingerprints, drip marks, need both doors open to access the left crisper bin and the bottom pull out.

I do like the refrigerator. But it is a smaller capacity (especially the freezer). We are fortunate to have our old refrigerator in the basement for overflow storage, but keep in mind if you need a fully stocked refrigerator for a large family, or want to keep a ton of fresh food accessible, you may want to opt for a larger capacity model.

The alarm door feature comes in handy with kids who may not always shut the door. Shelving offers many options but only drawback is that there isn't a lot of vertical space in between the shelves. I often have to lie larger juice or soda bottles on their sides in order to store them in the refrigerator.
