The best feature for us is what we call the "Party Tray" We can put large platters and casserole dishes on the bottom pull out shelf. We have large dinners for entertaining.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The installer removed the stero foam on the back wall in back of the sliding drawer and seen the impint DO NOT REMOVE so we gluded it back .The unit is mor noisy then my OLD frige.

love the french door design

The kitchenaid is much nicer. the house we are in now had an older side by side. we have had this kitchenaid long enough to tell a difference in our electric bill- the old side by side was not only a energy hog but things always wanted to fall out of the freezer. this one is very quiet and looks great in our new kitchen

The freezer started to leak after 3 years.
The phone line of their customer service will drop call and they will have to transfer you to another line, and then you have to explain the whole thing all over again. This could happen more then one time, which is very annoying.

Defective Unit

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We did not need all the bells and whistles but we wanted a counter depth unit for our newly renovated kitchen. After first turning the unit on we waited the recommended 24 hours before stocking the refrigerator. Three days later the unit was still not cooling. After we contacted our vendor's service department they arranged for a technician to come out the next day. The technician had to repair a copper line that was leaking refrigerant. The technician also expressed concern that while the unit had been running it had been sucking in warm, moist surrounding air. He also mentioned that this may lead to further problems after a few years of use.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this last March. I didn't want the french doors but because of space I had to get one. I LOVE it! There is so much room for large platters etc. There is plenty of room in the freezer and when I need extra, I just remove the ice tray.
