[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We got to try the Great Gourmet Kitchen as part of the toy tester program. It took me about an hour and a half to put together, but it was the first time I’ve ever assembled anything! My 7 year old with Down syndrome and 3 year old daughters love it! Their favorite feature seems to be the keurig, they are always asking me if I’d like a hot chocolate. I like the storage for fake food and the cabinets above the sink to teach them to “put away the dishes” Great design for 2 kids to play at a time as well! My girls have so much fun making “dinner” I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a kitchen!
Have had kitchens like this for my children before. The products are great HOWEVER providing me color instructions or atleast a way to download color instructions as there are a few steps that are unclear and the B&W are less than friendly. Maybe even a how to video so that someone doesn’t get stuck for 30 minutes on a step and possibly mess the product up.
I had two girls that are 3 and 2 that love to cook. When I open the box and they saw their new kitchen they were ecstatic. A major plus is it's roomy enough for both of them to have their own space. The two ovens make it easy for them to both cook at the same time, without the normal fighting. Having the overhead cabinets is cute. I like that you can see through those doors. When there are dishes in them, it sets off the whole set. They love the little chalkboard we have one in our house kitchen. They feel so big to write the grocery list on their chalkboard while I'm doing the same thing. Because it is so easy to clean, I'm able to give them real food to cook which they love. It takes no time to spray it down and whip it off. We love to be outside, so a few times a week I'll move it from their bedroom to the back porch. It is very lightweight I'm able to carry it and move it by myself easily. But it's also very strong and durable. I know that if my kids are leaning on it it's not going to fall out from underneath them. A really cool feature is the boiling sounds the cooking eye makes. when I showed them it they got a big kick out of it. I love this bright pink model, it's girly. I put it together by myself and it took me right at 30 minutes. I had no problems getting it together the instructions we're very clear and understandable. All the accessories that come with this kitchen are up to date and perfect for this age group. My girls and I are very pleased with his kitchen set. I would recommend it to any moms and dads better looking!
This kitchen is awesome! It's so modern and gives children the feel of a real "household kitchen" that they can explore and find similarities between the two. It has sturdy parts, easy to use instructions, lots of fun accessories and so much more. We did have a slight issue with a sticking refrigerator door, but once we contacted Step 2, they were quick to help us get it fixed. Our kids love to use the K-cup coffee maker feature and the "phone/tablet" accessory. They love all the little compartments where they can stash their fun trinkets. This kitchen is very gender neutral and helps us teach the children that boys/men belong in the kitchen too. Everyone can take turns being chefs, bakers, parents, entertainers and homemakers as they pretend-play with this kitchen! Endless hours of fun are had each day and I'm sure there is lots more fun to be had in the future!
Thank you Step2 for sending us this Great Gourmet Kitchen to test as part of the Step2 toy tester program! This is a great little kitchen! Loved that it came with a little of everything to get started playing. We did buy more play food. I have two boys 4 and 1.5 they both love "cooking" for everyone. My 4 year old said his favorite part is the chalk board. It was easy to put together with an electric screwdriver, took me about an hour but it would have been faster without the littles "helping"! My main complaint is that one of the ovens won't stay closed that part came pre put together so I know it's not my doing. My kids love all of the modern features that remind them of mommy's kitchen like the Keurig like coffee pot with the pods and the play phone that resembles an iPhone. They also enjoy the pots make boiling and sizzling noise with lights! Overall it's a great kitchen not too big while still allowing room for both kids to play at the same time. One thing I would change is instead of two ovens one should have been a dishwasher so they can learn to clean up too!
Thank you to Step2 for letting me test the Great Gourmet Kitchen in Tan as part of the Step2 toy tester program!I can't say enough good things about this adorable and very modern play kitchen! My son loves to help me in the kitchen so I've been looking for some time now for the perfect little kitchen for him to practice his culinary skills in and this one's it! It even has a great pass-through window so he can play with his little sister aka his official imaginary food taste tester.I love how sophisticated it looks - it actually matches my kitchen finishes which makes it feel more like an extension of the real kitchen for my son. He has so much fun with all of the realistic details like the incredibly cute coffee pod system, the smart phone and its dock in the countertop, and the stove top which lights up and makes frying or boiling sounds depending on whether you place the pan or the pot on it.Speaking of accessories, this kitchen comes with some great ones, starting with the "copper" pot and pan (with lids), an assortment of matching cooking utensils which can hang from a multitude of well placed hooks, a kid-sized potholder for taking things out of the double oven or microwave, a complete dish set for two including "silverware", and salt and pepper shakers that you can grind. The knobs on the stove click when you adjust them and there are loads of other great details like a moving faucet in the double sink, adjustable clock hands for learning about time, a little chalk board perfect for showing "Today's Specials" and a pretend water dispenser on the fridge door. There is also a tonne of storage - despite the small footprint of this kitchen (which makes it perfect for small spaces), this kitchen packs a big punch. It even comes with two removable storage bins - which my son loves to fill with "fresh" fruit and veggies - and an adorable little green reusable shopping bag so he can pick out his own produce when we go out to the Farmer's Market!
This kitchen has it all - microwave, coffee machine, a hob that makes noise, and so on....everything you can find in a real kitchen. My toddler started playing even before we finished putting it together, she was so excited she couldn't wait. Even though the kitchen has got so many features and play options, its not as bulky and doesn't take as much room up as I thought it would. Also, since its plastic, its perfect for outdoor play in summer. You can easily move it from one room to the other which is a huge advantage. My favorite features are the accessories, it comes with a lot of different items: plates, cutlery, pots and pans, groceries and even a grocery bag. Oh and a phone - my toddler takes that phone everywhere. It really is fully equipt, you don't need to spend an other dollar, its all included.Putting the kitchen together was fairly easy too, I think it took my husband and myself about 45 min to put it together.Thank you to Step2 for letting me test this item as part of the Step2 toy tester program.
Thank you to Step2 for letting me test this item as part of the Step2 toy tester program. My son loves this! The Coffee machine is his favorite part. He loves switching out the cup flavors a and playing with the coffee pot. The cell phone was a great accessory to the kitchen. He also enjoys having a place to put the cups on the refrigerator to pretend to get ice/water.
