[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 3 year old boy and 4 year old girl was very excited for for a workbench but their excitement quickly faded when the set up took me a bit longer than expected. Here’s a setup tip: use a drill, not a screwdriver as shown in the instruction images. After the work bench was constructed I noticed I was missing a few of the toy nuts and bolts and some of the smaller peices. Also, the little orange bucket on the side of the surface kept falling off.
After hammering and sawing away for about half an hour, they quickly grew bored of the workbench itself and began to “construct” using the toy tools around the house. After a while the noise level in the house really got to me. After a while they kept asking me to “fix the drill” which seemed defective and stopped working later that very first day. that being said a couple of days later they did return to playing with the workbench but had begun pretending it was a kitchen set.
Summary: the tools are the only things the kids really play with beyond the first couple days. so if your kids have limited play space this workbench is less than ideal. This product would be a lot better if it included something for the kids to use the tools on to “construct” and simulate a building experience. The current “wooden” car is more of a puzzle than anything else and we were not able to fit it together

Toddler loves this!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall, this is a great product for toddlers. My son is 2.5 and as soon as it was set up he started to use the drill and screws. If my husband is working on a household project, my son now grabs his own tools to help. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because it was kind of a pain to put together--I thought it would be a bit simpler but we needed an actual drill to make sure everything was put together tightly enough so it wouldn't be wobbly. Thank you Step2 for letting me test this item as part of the Step2 Toy Tester Program!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] From the moment this toy arrived, we were very anxious to open and assemble it. Our 2 1/2 year old son was extremely excited and enjoyed "helping" assemble it with the included toy hand tools! The directions were straight forward and not difficult to follow. A short while later he was "working" hard at his brand new work bench. It is now his favorite toy to play with!! He loves to hammer and drill just like Mommy and Daddy do! The fact that all the toy tools are easy to hold makes this product very enjoyable to use for him. I would highly recommend this product to anyone with toddlers or preschoolers who are interested in building and constructing. It definitely grabs their interest and holds it. As is typical of all Step2 products, it is of sturdy construction and I fully expect it to last for many years as many of our other Step2 products have for our older sons. We have several Step2 products that are over 15 years old and still in amazing condition! In my experience, no other brand boasts such high quality and product longevity. Thank you Step2 for letting me test this item as part of the Step2 Toy Tester Program!!

LOVE this workbench!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] From the moment my husband and I started assembling the Handyman Workbench my daughter was extremely excited to play with her new toy. The assembly was pretty easy, my one critique would be to have all the holes predrilled out of the box. It was a bit tricky trying to get the screws started. Overall, I like that the workbench product really has a lot to offer between the bench itself, the tools, flashlight and the wood look foam which can be assembled into different items like in a real shop class. My daughter really enjoys playing with this toy! Thank you Step2 for letting me test this item as part of the Step2 Toy Tester Program!

My sons new favorite toy!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son is LOVING this From the minute the package arrived, he was so excited about the contents- and was even more excited when he saw what was inside! Super Simple to assemble for an impatient toddler wanting to play!
What my son loves most is that the toys WORK! The drill and the light are his favorites. He loves pretending to fix his firetrucks with all of his tools. This is by far one of his favorite Step2 products he owns!

Great Product!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product truly went above my expectations! When the package arrived my husband put it together which was easy, took less than an hour! There was only one screw missing, but we had extras! Once together we got batteries for the drill and flash light!
My two year old daughter absolutely loves the product. She loves the real life sounds the drill makes and is sawing away. Also it comes with foam building pieces that we used to make a car for her dolls! I would highly recommend this product as it has kept my daughters attention!
