I bought this a couple months ago when we moved into our new home. I was concerned about off gassing of new materials as well as allergens & pesticides (we live on a golf course). My Naturopath recommended IQ Air and I’m so happy we purchased the GC Multi Gas unit. It has performed flawlessly! My seasonal allergies have not bothered me this spring and I haven’t had any side effects from the off gassing or spraying of pesticides. I highly recommend this product!

Great purifier but expect more functionalities

We bought the GC MultiGas because the wildfire smoke in California is getting worse and worse each year, and we wanted to make sure we were breathing clean air in our home. The purifier works great at cleaning the air, which is obviously the most important aspect.
But the reason it doesn't get 5* from us is because, for the money it costs, we would expect it to be more technologically advanced. The device does not tell you what the quality of air is in your home, for that you have to but the 'AirVisual', so essentially you have to guess what level to put the MultiGas on unless you have the AirVisual.
Because the MultiGas doesn't detect the air quality itself, there's no way it can automatically react and keep the air quality at a certain level and therefore feels like a very manual process.
The remote is also terrible and you have to get so close to the device to use it that you may as well just press the buttons on the top.

These do an amazing job at cleaning the air in our funky smelling older house. They are big and bulky and not for the faint of heart. I really like that you can program them to run at different speeds during different times of day or night. My only complaint is all the plastic. I am somewhat chemically sensitive, and was pleased that I didn't have trouble with the plastic off-gassing, assumed maybe the carbon would take care of that too(?). But the design- with the long plastic parts that pull back to allow access to the filters seems prone to breakage, especially with a new user. It's just too easy to pull too hard on one of those things. And the wheels were REALLY hard to get to "snap" into place. I injured my hand trying.

Bought a new trailer built like a FEMA lawsuit one. The gas burned our eyes, made the cats hair fall out and him puke often. I bought 4 other VOC air cleaners before I spent the money on this one. This one is by far the best of them all. We no longer suffer as a result ( that we can observe ). But ours is an extreme situation. Don't waste your money on any other if you have any inkling of a VOC issue because I spent thousands on others that didn't cut the gas. I had 3 in the main room even that could not do what one IQ Multigas did. The filters in the IQ Gas are by far superior to the others. Do your due diligence.

Life saver. Ordered one last year for my good friend with MCAS/MCS during PNW wildfires. Was the only reason they could function at home without a major anaphylaxis flair up. Finally able to get myself one the past month. Incredible step up from HEPA units like Conway or Dyson. I also have MCAS/MCS, and I was able to open my windows at night during the heatwave to cool the apartment off despite cigarette smoke, smog, and pollen. I'd say it's a little quieter at its highest setting compared to the highest settings of the previously mentioned systems. Easy to clean. Straightforward to change filters. Sleek design. It's just awesome.

It handles cigart smoke...but

I bought this costly unit a year ago, so I could enjoy a cigar every once in awhile in my den, without leaving the lingering smoke behind. I don't smoke a lot, maybe 1 or two a month. Running at level 6 for 12 hours, it does remove the smell, but that's at full blast for 12 hours, to clear a 10x14 room. I was hoping for better results. I have it mounted high up on the wall, hoping that would make it more effective. It was a choice between this and the "Rabbit" which is heavily advertised. I went this way, and wonder if I made the right choice. Also, the replacement filters are very expensive, and you must use the factory versions, not aftermarket.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
