I bought this watch as a birthday present for myself and I'm happy I did. This watch is well made with lots of features for any outdoor activity. One thing I noticed is the screen is easy to read in sunlight with or without sun glassess. The watch face can be changed to your likings and there are a lot of free apps available for the watch.This watch is a little pricey but you get what you pay for. Well done Garmin!

To complicated, to dark, backlight gesture not goo

I bought this product on Friday and returned it the following Saturday evening. Being an avid kayaker when I'm not managing my data center I thought this would be the perfect watch for me. I spent weeks reading reviews watching video logs etc before making the purchase. So I was aware of the limitations software with the watch. but with no touch screen and just a couple of buttons it makes it extremely difficult and a long process to get to any screen if you want.no matter how many different ways you play with the backlight gesture settings when you raise your arm the back light does not come on consistently and without the touch screen option double tapping the screen does not help obviously.
Most disappointing is the setup procedure. I'm in the IT professional world and was able to set my watch up fine however a normal user would have difficulty with this. when I returned my watch I bought a Galaxy watch and upon turning the watch own it paired and synced automatically to the pre-installed software on my phone I literally had to click okay on both devices and that was it.
Extremely glad I returned it

This is my first smart watch that I’ve ever own so I don’t have much to compare it to but so far it’s great. Change to be very accurate and user-friendly. The only complaint that I would have is that Garmin pay is it really excepted at a lot of places. I haven’t been able to use it once yet. That was a bonus feature that I was really excited about.

Watch has a great GPS and exercise tracking. The functions are a little clunky but the durability seems to be there. Battery life seems to be pretty good. I would have liked to seen some more smartwatch features for the price but overall pretty pleased with it.

This fenix 5x Plus has me feeling like a man again. Coming from an Apple Watch where the entire time I wore it I felt like I was going to break it. It was dainty and fragile. This Garmin is much more robust and heavy duty- just what I was looking for! The features it has are second to none and I truly believe the wrist based heartrate is the best you can get in that category. Not perfect but really good. You'll love this watch no matter what your activity involvement is.
