Too hot to touch!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the first stove I've purchased that the entire stove including the top of the stove gets too hot to touch when the oven is on. I would suspect this happens due to the lack of insolation. There is even a warning light that goes on when the oven is being used that warns you that the top of the stove will be too hot to touch. Other than this flaw the stove works as it should.

Love my Amana Range

As Good as My Previous Amana

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I previously owned an Amana ARR-405. I looked for a stove that was similar and bought this one. I like the bigger oven window and brighter oven light. It is a very good basic electric range. They have improved the oven door. In the old days, we would get an owner's manual. It would tell me how to set the time, timer, etc. Nowadays we have to figure it out on our own. I was happy that the installer set the time. The owner's manual online does not include this. I don't like following: the oven racks don't slide smoothly (really tight) when the oven is hot, the oven light does not come on when I open the door (have to manually turn it on), the heating element in oven makes weird sounds and the middle part of the 2 small coil elements make an annoying dinging sound at the slightest touch. My old oven ran a little hot and so I knew the new one would be different. It is different and I bought an oven thermometer to monitor what this one does.

Longer to cook

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the range 1 month ago, and it takes a long time to cook as compared to Maytag. I'm guessing that's why they give Amana products as prizes on the Price is Right.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Basic Oven

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had it a few weeks and did holiday baking. The oven has even heat making it easy to use. I purchased this type of stove top to accomodate my heavy cast iron pans. Again the heat is even. Clean up is easy. I'm very pleased.
