This oven replaced a Samsung glasstop oven.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We had a Samsung glasstop oven/stove and the glasstop cracked one day immediately after my wife had set a pot on the burner and turned it on. The stove lasted about two years. I had owned an Amana refrigerator before that I bought in 1998 and had it until we gave it to my wife's son when he moved into his new house. I fully expect that Amana fridge to easily run another 24 years trouble free. I also grew up with an Amana refrigerator in my parent's house and can't recall any time it ever needed any repairs. We chose this Amana oven because of its simplicity, its easy to clean, and I don't need a degree in computer programming to set the clock or timer. When the time comes when our current Samsung refrigerator goes belly up, we will be sticking an Amana fridge in that space.

It works

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Don't buy this if you are a canner because you can't get a canner up to pressure quickly enough. The sensors on each coil turn the heat off when it reaches a certain temp so trying to boil water can sometimes be a problem. The bottom drawer feels like it's made of tin. The oven does do a good job of cooking baked goods and other things. Since there are not many electric stoves with coils I guess I would recommend this one. I do not like glass top stoves at all so this one will have to do.

Do not buy

As mentioned in the other review, the coil turns off the burner once it gets to a certain temp and then it takes too long for the burner to turn back on. Boiling water, making rice or cook anything takes way longer than it should. Horrible
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Nice stove BUT

I have actually bought two of these stoves. The pop up on the burners are ridiculous. You are cooking bacon and all of a sudden, it stops cooking. I love to cook Chinese and you need a consistent hot burner and this stupid thing turns off. Whoever designed this is a non cook. I end up buying regular burners and replace these, which of course, costs even more. I love the rest of the stove but these just need to go, I’m wondering if the gas burners turn off too?

I found this Amana range and another one but decided on the Amana because of the price and its features. I'm glad I did. It has been a great choice! I'm so happy I bought it.
