For 16 month old. Love plain train. Love different shapes & primary colors. A storage pouch would be nice to place pieces in for clean up time. And, perhaps a string/cord to pull the train around if one wishes to do so, as babies & toddlers are always on the move.

My 18mo old son loves this train, of all of his hundreds of toys he probably plays with this for the longest period of time on his own. He loves to make the train, but also loves just stacking the blocks! There are lots of ways to use this and of course it is very durable. Can't wait til christmas to get some more melissa and doug items.
Pros: Durable, Easy Assembly, Entertaining, Fun, Great Value, Interactive

My son LOVES this train set. Not only is it easy to assemble but it allows him to be creative with how he stacks the blocks. It also has really helped him learn color recognition by naming the colors of each block as he places it on the train. I highly recommend this toy to anyone who has a child who loves to build and disassemble things and who loves to be creative.
