Cooks Well, Worried About Scratching Surface

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have mixed feelings on this cooktop. I replaced a glass top induction cooktop that I hated, so this is an improvement over that. I like having actual knobs to control the settings, which is much more efficient than using a finger on the glass. I have been able to clean well around the knobs, so that is not an issue. I do feel like it takes a long time to get up to heat, but once it is up to heat, it can get very hot very quickly. So if you turn something on high to get it boiling, don't turn your back, as you'll need to turn it down for a simmer once it finally heats up. But the temperatures seem consistent once heated, so I am happy with the evenness of the controls. My real concern for this is cleaning the top. I am using all the methods recommended by KitchenAid: wipe spills immediately, cool it down, use cooktop cleaner and/or baking soda. But it feels like the glass is going to scratch. It does not clean as well or have the slick feel as other glass cooktops I've had before. I had one very minor spillover, and it took me days to remove the burnt spot, gently rubbing cleaner on it a little at a time. But even carefully using all the recommended methods, it looks like there are marks on the glass where the spill was. I plan to contact KitchenAid about this, as I don't want a brand new cooktop ruined already. So I like how it cooks, but I am worried about keeping the surface from scratching.

"Stains" too easy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I LOVEmy cooktop! It looks fantastic. Getting used to how easily it gets marred up is going to continue to be sad. Any water drops on the outside of a pot/pan or running down the side
when the steamer is doing it's job seems to
make for continual cleaning. So far that is the only negative thing. All the burner size options and heating is exactly as our sales lady said.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Still getting used to new cooktop. The only thing I would mention is that its hard to see the outline of the burners. Have to put pan as close as possible and then adjust when it gets red.

Terrible cooktop

I bought new cooktop in August. Live alone and do not cook much. Cooktop looks old already. White spots pop up, heat marks from under glass that won’t go away. Kitchenaid’s should not sell this product. I keep a spotless kitchen and this cooktop is embarrassing. Cannot be cleaned away.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
