[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Have had this phone for a couple weeks now and it has been a nice upgrade from the v20 that I previously had. Camera and battery life are a nice upgrade. Would recommend to anyone that has an older LG to try.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just bought this a few days ago. Getting used to it but like it. have many features to still try. Having gone from an LG G4, it's fairly easy to navigate. I would recommend it! Price a bit steep though!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had the V10, V20, V30 and now this V40 as an upgrade for the Mrs. from her G6 We like that it retains the receiver as mic feature that started on the V30, because we go to many concerts. The 5 cameras are really useful, but we would prefer if the 2X zoom camera was better and that you could actually force the phone into using this camera instead of the phone deciding if it has enough light to use it. Since the V40 is all about the extra cameras, LG should have made sure that the 2X camera was top notch, not just good enough. LG made the decision also to not allow one to switch to or from the wide angle camera during video recording. LG instead only lets you go between main and zoom rear camera. That was not a good move. Android does not currently support more than 2 rear cameras, but LG should have chosen wide and regular. It would have offered much more flexibility while shooting video.
The headphone jack back to the bottom was a welcome move. The included music for slo mo is a nice touch. No more video over usb, so you cannot connect to a TV with a wire. We are glad the phone is IP68 water resistant. We wish the battery wlfas at least 3500mAh but battery life is ok. We like that it has QC4 charging although LG only includes QC3 charger and cable. This phone takes the fastest wireless chargers also, at 15A. The portrait mode shooting is great on the front cameras, and excellent on the rear cameras. LG could also have done a bit better with the front cameras, but they are a vast improvement over the 5MP in my V30 and her old G6. Since LG was throwing so much into this phone camerawise, perhaps they could have included a front flash. But judging by the fact that the earpiece is already offset with those two front cameras, perhaps a front facing flash would have made the notch to wide. The notch, by the way, isn't so bad, but it does limit the notification space.
The Google Assistant button is nice to have, but it would be nice if you could push and hold it and unlock the phone with your voice and use it all in one step. Nitpicking, but I think the volume down button should have exactly matched the placement of the power button heightwise, making screenshots a squeeze away.
The display is really nice, rivaling that of other brand quality. The speaker quality is a vast improvement over the V30 and G6 and basically any other V or G phone prior to, save for the G7, which was never offered on AT&T. You can feel the hole body of the phone resonate with sound. Even notifications sound rich and full with the new speaker setup.
The phone is snappy. We are hoping it stays that way, as our other phones have had a tendency to hiccup over time, even after factory resets. Perhaps at least keeping the camera running in RAM would help a bit.
The headphone jack is the best in the business, and nothing drives high quality, high impedance headphones like an LG phone. Take any LG V phone from the last 3 generations and compare it back to back with anything else with a set of gaming headphones, and you will be blown away.
LG needs to better market their strengths.
