Awesome Phone

This phone is simply amazing, nearly the perfect phone. I am coming from a OnePlus 5t and this is WAY better than that phone. I had an LG V20 before the OnePlus and wanted to go back to LG but the other devices didn't intrigue me enough to switch back until this one. It's a lot better than a lot of the reviewers say it is.
Speed - This phone is fast and smooth, you will not see many (if any) stutters or dropped frames in regular use. Apps open instantly and it boots up quickly. Unlocking is instant using the fingerprint sensor. You'll be happy with the speed.
Screen - The screen on the phone is AMAZING!! I have friends that have iPhones XS's and Note 9's and I will say that the screen is in my opinion better than those screens. It is fairly accurate and it bright. I can read it perfectly fine in bright sunlight. Colors POP and it's very vibrant. I can't really see why people say that the Note screen is better.
Battery - It's fine, it gets you through the day and that's all you should really need. It's not the best but it is as good as others. It doesn't have bad battery life like some of the reviewers have said, it's above average.
Camera - The camera is the highlight of this phone. It's excellent, I have shot some pretty amazing pictures on this phone and I have out shot my friend with an iPhone XS. I like the way LG handles multiple cameras, you can choose the camera you want, most others can't do that really. It's quite simply one of the best camera phones ever built.
Build - I'll keep it simple...this phone is WELL built. It's just like any other flagship, just lighter.
Speaker - OK. I wasn't impressed, and I wasn't expected to be. It gets the job done and it is loud. NO smartphone speaker is gonna be that good overall though, so I wouldn't worry much about that.
Headphone jack - First, it has one!! I have several I quality headphones and I missed being able to drive them with my phone when I got rid of my V20. This has been and still is the BEST headphone jack in the industry HANDS DOWN!! All of my headphones just sound SO much better when plugged into this phone.
Software - It's good, I like how light the LG theming is. I came from a OnePlus which is very close to stock and this isn't much different than that. Most LG apps look like the stock android equivalent and they have useful additions. There are TONS of features added which I like and the theme engine is great. Would have been better if it was the latest version of android, but I'm sure it will come eventually.
I considered many other phones before buying this, and I did lots of research on which I wanted to get and I landed on this phone and I haven't been disappointed and I don't think you will either.

Great phone from LG

I upgraded from the LG V20 to the LG V40 when it was released in October 2018. I thought I would miss the second screen of the V20 but LG incorporated a new "second screen" in the V40 notch but the real gem is the always-on-display, where you can put quick tools and the music player. You can access certain apps without turning on the phone.....just like the V20. This phone is faster, the OLED is sharp and vivid, the speaker is noticeably louder, the headphone jack is still available, Bluetooth 5.0 connects faster to my devices, and all 5 cameras are pretty good! With the upgrade to Android 9 Pie, more camera options are available. Overall, I have been pleased enough to where I finally wrote a review.
Pros: 6.4" OLED screen, loud speaker, AI camera, headphone jack, wireless charging, upgraded to Android 9 Pie
Cons: Average battery, no more IR blaster

I purchased 2 of these phones to upgrade both mine and my husbands Motorola phones. We are super happy with these phones. The only reason for less than 5 stars is I am having trouble with the group messaging setting as well as my bluetooth does not want to reconnect to my car. Still working on these issues, but having trouble finding information to fix these. I think there are fixable, just having trouble finding help on them. Overall, though we love the phones and are super happy with them.

Please be careful when buying this phone. The call are getting disconnected and also the other person will not hear after few minutes and when you are trying to do WhatsApp call there is issue that this mobile will not work after some time.

Great phone less the horrible screen

The V40 ThinQ is a very nice phone as far as features and performance. My one huge issue with it is the touch screen. The touch sensitivity is not nearly as good as the Galaxy S5 that I upgraded from. Yes...I'm totally serious. My wife and I both upgraded from older phones and we are shocked by how bad our phone screens are. We both got V40's. We're locked in by a contract so we're stuck. Highly not recommend!

HATE HATE HATE THIS PHONE

Nothing about this phone is well planned. I can't actually talk on the phone because I constantly place the call on hold. The google button on the side is poorly placed and just a pain. I find the sound quality and lighting to both be poor. I might actually have to eat a lot of money and just call it quits with this phone. I put my dad's surgeon on hold the other day and missed important details about the conversation. Guess that was the last straw.
