We received this product to try via the Mattel rate and review service.
Now we are big Thomas fans in our house. We have trackmaster, take n play, minis, adventurers and the super station. When this Turbo Jungle trackmaster set arrived through the door we were super excited, especially as we had just seen the new Big World Big Adventures film.
The set has the most awesome Thomas, all decorated with jungle leaves and in a streamlined racing design even with a helmet and visor. He looks great.
The track is easy to assemble and came well packaged. The track is coloured yellow and green with lovely detail of leaves and jungle stickers to add to the tunnel.
The best part of this track is the amazing turbo launcher which is just awesome. Thomas is launched from the track into a jungle tunnel. If Thomas misses the launcher then he goes off into a secret tunnel and back around.
Once out of the turbo tunnel Thomas spins around down the track and heads over two switch control points. We have never seen these points before, have them on yellow and he slows downs but if they are on green Thomas’s speeds up. It’s a great feature.
The only one negative is the palm trees. They are supposed to fall down when Thomas reached them but they just seem to have a mind of their own and fall down regardless. In the end my kids (6 and 4) took them off. It didn’t stop them playing with it for 5 hours straight on the first day it arrived!
It really is a great trackmaster set. Our favourite trackmaster set yet. I can’t add a photo of the Thomas train to this review as my son has taken it to bed!

Was sent this today and as soon as it arrives, I was thrilled that it was packaged lovely so no damage could accrue.
Once we opened it my three year old daughter was ecstatic and wanted it open as quickly as possible. This you should not be assumed to be for boys because it is a train set because any child with an imagination and creative mind will be thrilled with it.
It was easily put together with all parts there and was very sturdy and didn't feel like a cheap quality which is brilliant for the more boystress children.
My 3 year old played for hours once it was out and involved other toys and dolls to play with it. So no need to buy more Thomas figures.
My 7 year old (daughter)on the other hand was not overly fused about it, so I do believe the age should maybe be from 3-5 years and not the 7 that it states.
Overall I am a very happy customer and would happily recommend and rave about it for people with children within the ages of 2-5!!!! A PLUS for the fab you mattel!!

Wow! Amazing! - the first words my sons said when I showed them the box. It’s an impressive size and would make a fantastic present. On opening it took about 15-20 minutes to set up using the clear instructions inside. It is very colourful compared to other trackmaster tracks, and includes some impressive features. The booster tracks make Thomas faster than he has ever been and the turbo speed to enable him to jump the bridge is impressive, he goes at some speed! Watching him last at the other end safely is very satisfying as well. We tried a few one few trackmaster engines and whilst the booster tracks were ineffective (I believe the train included with this set has a modification to allow it to speed up) however the turbo speed does work on all trackmaster engines allowing you to make anyone jump the bridge.
We have had so much fun playing with this set, I love the colours and extra features. It is a fantastic addition to the trackmaster range.

I brought this for my three and five year old boys and they cannot stop playing with it. The three year old plays with it on his own and can push back the turbo launcher without any issues. The boys like the fact there are two different routes for Thomas to take. The set has provided hours of independent fun!

This train set is very easy to assemble. My 2 year old nephew and 3 year old niece played with this train set for hours, with my 8 month old niece 2 month old daughter watching the fast trains and the colourful movements from our laps. The children would excited when the train would pass the dropping palm trees and also get surprised every time when the train would travel through the turbo boosters, which cause the train to jump. The children really enjoyed this toy.

We are a bit of a Thomas-mad household (thanks to my 3 year old son) - we have numerous Thomas sets already - lots of wooden tracks and trains, some Thomas minis, a few take-n-play sets (and their successor, Thomas adventures??), as well as a box full of Trackmaster track and trains which has been handed down to us, so are at least 10 years old.
My son is used to playing with the Trackmaster we have so had no qualms jumping straight on with this set - he loved the novelty of having an actual set rather than just a box of track like he's used to! I was impressed with how quick it was too set up, even with his "help", and it's sturdy enough for my son to play with easily (he's not the most gentle at times with toys!)
The biggest wow factor for us was the train - it is so much quicker and more powerful than the older trains we have! I also like that you now need a screwdriver to get at the batteries - the old trains just popped the top off and batteries were exposed.
The spring loaded ramp had produced hours of entertainment, and we love that we can add extra track to it to expand it.
The only real negative I've found is that it works better on a hard floor than carpet, which really limits where we can use it, but I think I'll just get a couple of boards to place on top of the carpet to overcome this. It's also a fairly large set so takes quite a bit of room - again, limiting where it can be played with (but being so large a set isn't a bad thing from my son's point of view!)
I think we may well be investing in a couple of new trains after seeing how well this one works!
